Cheshire Youth Pantomime Society (CHYPS) are a youth charity based in Wilmslow in the UK.

We present a spectacular pantomime in the first week in January each year at the Evans Theatre, Wilmslow Leisure Centre. CHYPS returns in January 2023 at The Evans Theatre, Wilmslow Leisure Centre.

Announcing our 2027 pantomime!

Yes, the next spectacular CHYPS show will be ALADDIN, right in the heart of Wilmslow!

29th / 30th December 2026
2nd / 3rd January 2027

Tickets will go on sale to the public on Monday 28th September!

If you can’t wait until then you could become a CHYPS patron to get priority booking before tickets go on sale to the public.

Fantastic news to share! CHYPS won two awards for Snow White at the Greater Manchester Drama Federation annual awards last night!

The awards were for Best Choreographer Pantomime (Amy Dick) and Best Musical Director of a Pantomime (Dan James).

We hope you’ll join us in congratulating them both! We’re hugely proud of them and grateful for what they do to make our shows amazing!

Amazing news to share! CHYPS have received ELEVEN nominations for awards for our last show Snow White from the Greater Manchester Drama Federation!

The nominations are:
Best Principal Girl - Emily Taylor (Snow White)
Best Villain - Madison McMurray (Queen Avarice)
Best Dame - Daniel Jones (Edna Bucket)
Best Comedy Couple - Amy Tordoff and Evie Garbutt for their roles as Justice Quill and Scribbles
Best Comedy Performance - Ruby Abbott (Chuckles)
Best Skin Character (ie portrayal of an animal character) - Hope Garbutt & Merryn Marris (Avarice’s Cats)
Best Youth Performance - Poppy, Aria, Valentin, Pippa, Maisie, Elliot, April - The Seven Dwarfs
Best Costume Design
Best Choreographer Pantomime - Amy Dick
Best Musical Director of a Pantomime - Dan James
Best Director of a Pantomime - Sally Hunt

CHYPS are delighted to announce that following the conclusion of the recent blue coin voting at local Tesco stores, we have come first!

This means CHYPS will receive a grant of £1500 to enable us to continue to bring a spectacular pantomime to Wilmslow every year! In particular, we need more storage space for our amazing sets. This grant will contribute to that.

Everyone at CHYPS (cast and helpers) would like to express their MASSIVE thanks to Tesco!

And also, a MASSIVE thank you to everyone that voted for us!

Last weekend a number of the CHYPS cast members took part in the 108th Alderley Edge Drama Festival. It was a brilliant weekend and a great showcase of talent around the community.

Congratulations to the following:

Eiliyah Ihsan 1st in the category Solo Drama Yrs 10-13

Eloise Derbyshire 1st in the category Solo Acting Through Song for Yrs 5 & 6.

Eloise Derbyshire 1st in the category Solo Drama Yr 6

Nienna Sleight 1st in the category Sight Reading Yrs 7-9

Perry Bowker 2nd in the category Solo Drama Yrs 7-9

Nienna Sleight 3rd in the category Solo Drama Yrs 7-9

Also former CHYPS cast member, Georgia Jackson, came 2nd in the category Solo Drama Yrs 10-13.
