Named for her magpie colouring. She was a lovely nosey little hen. Always hovering near me when gardening in the hope of finding a little worm or two.

Sadly Blanche has passed over into Hen Heaven now but whilst she was with us she laid the most beautiful pale blue eggs.
She was a bit of a diva as you can imagine!

Giorria (Gaelic Irish for 'hare')

Legend has it that the hares dance and drum on the land to awaken the sleeping goddess Ostara. As she arises she walks the land and in her wake she melts the frozen winter ground and enables the earth to spring into life once again.
The name Ostara has links to Easter (hence the Easter bunnies) and also Estrogen and links to fertility.
