I can't believe that it's already a week since the Shindy! I hope everybody has recovered. Having had a little time to reflect, it would be great if you could take a few moments of your time to complete our survey so that we can see how we did. Also, so that we can improve things for next year (too soon?).

Here's the link, please do let us know what you enjoyed, what the best bits were and what we can improve on, plus suggestions for next year.

That's a wrap for another year. Wigtown Shindy Salutes you all......

Just two more bands to enjoy before the Shindy draws to a close for another year!

We've loved bringing you brilliant acts covering all sorts of musical styles, and all at no cost to Shindy attendees. We're hoping to do the same next year, but we need your help.

It costs thousands of pounds to pay for the marquee, bands, security, portaloos, licenses and insurance, as well as supplying the bar and covering anything else we need to put on a safe and successful event.

We're very lucky we get so much local support with staging, lighting, tech, bins, fridges, games and raffle prizes, bar equipment and all sorts of bits and bobs.

We're also very blessed to have an intrepid team of volunteers doing anything and everything to help both before and during the event.

And, we're incredibly grateful to all our generous and wonderful sponsors, donors and funders, but we know it may not be possible for the same people to help us every year.

As we start looking to next year, we welcome all enquiries from anyone who wishes to offer financial support for the 2027 Shindy, so this brilliant community event remains free for all to attend πŸ’œπŸ™

We've got some gorgeous vocals going on in the Shindy marquee. If you can't make it in to see now, they're on again at 8.30pm to end the night, and we have BOGLE MUFTY and Kurlew to entertain you in between.

Make sure you catch everything at the Shindy before we pack things away for another year!

We've got some lost property in the marquee, so if anyone has mislaid a bag with perfume in it, a bracelet, or a cooler bag with cans, come in to see us and describe your lost item and we'll try to reunite you with it.

How is everyone today after a cracking night last night? We're all running on fumes now πŸ₯± but we're refueling on coffee ready for the last day of the Shindy!

A slight change to today's line-up:

We've got the fabulous Creetown Silver Band appearing to accompany the Baptist Church for their outdoor Sunday service in the marquee. The service starts at 1.15pm and the band play at 2pm.

We've got the Beetle Drive at 3pm, hosted by Mr Shindy himself, Matt Kitson, and prizes including family passes to Dalscone Farm and Wigtown Book Festival.

After that, Beth Porter, Rhona Jones, Lucy Compton-Reid and Bonita Sutherland are singing as Sister Folk until the bands for the day kick off with at 4.30pm.

Cafe Rendezvous Wigtown are open and serving food till 3.30pm, and T***s & Co will be here serving up their delicious pizzas too πŸ•

That's a pretty good looking Sunday you've got there, Wigtown! Enjoy! πŸ˜‰

Some of us may have forgotten to eat lunch today, but we hope you lovely folks haven't!

There's loads of hot and cold food, snacks, cakes, both sit-in and takeaway to choose from, depending on what takes your fancy.

Thank you to Books & Bakes, Cafe Rendezvous Wigtown, Cobwebs, ReadingLasses, The Frying Scotsman, and The Wigtown Ploughman for feeding everyone, and to North Street Deli - Wigtown for extending their opening hours and their menu for you hungry souls!

Oh, and we've opened the bar early, so you can slake your thirst at the Galloway Bar, The Wigtown Ploughman, or HERE!
