The Laal Collective CIC

The Laal Collective CIC The Laal Collective CIC (TLC) is an arts organisation in Cumbria with not-for-profit objectives.

Working with communities creating arts projects that celebrate identity and sense of place, through collaborative and collective approaches, we want them to be proud of where they come from, who they are and to show that through their creative voice. TLC believe that every participant, whatever their age or socio-economic background, has a creative spark. Through our philosophy and approach, peopl

e’s creative energy is transformed into skills to make their idea a reality. TLC artists work in a variety of settings on a range of projects. We have developed ways of working with people with additional and emotional needs, using drawing, drama and puppetry, as the vehicle for creating the participants' voice. With our projects, participants develop their resilience, emotional literacy and connections to people, place and planet. Through these projects they will have a visual and lasting expression of the journey they have taken that will be shared locally and regionally. We have a strong network of local professional artists who share our philosophy and working practice. We believe passionately in strengthening the potential in emerging artists to increase Cumbria’s cultural communities.

Our final celebration of Year 2 of took place today at All Saints' Primary School, Cockermouth where children from Reception and Year 1 sat underneath the amazing story tent they've created inspired by their story. They met their new friends elephant, spider and Granny Bear created by students at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh And were each given a copy of the book they wrote and illustrated. We can't wait to see what Year 3 brings!
