🚴‍♂️Enclosed Bike Track🚴‍♂️
Learning to ride a bike is a fundamental part of childhood, but for many children with additional needs, opportunities can be limited.

Adapted bikes and trikes can be difficult to transport, and suitable open spaces are often surrounded by roads, water, or other hazards, meaning children rarely get the freedom to ride independently.

This is one of the issues that inspired the start of Progress Juggernauts.

At Progress Juggernauts, we're planning a safe, accessible space with adapted bikes and trikes available for children to enjoy.

We also hope to introduce dedicated E-Ride sessions for revvies, hoverboards, e-scooters, and more.

Good things take time, but we're excited to say they're coming. 💚

Our fundraising merchandise is starting to arrive! These car air fresheners smell of Pine so you can get a big whiff of the great outdoors when you're doing your calming deep breaths! 💪😎

If your family have the additional mental load of packing numerous adaptations and aids for a family day out, Juggernauts will be for you.

There are so many more that aren't included here too, every family will have their own version. Which is why it's so important that we work together to create Juggernauts.

⭐ U P D A T E ⭐
Yesterday we had a great meeting with the very supportive team at Wigan Council. Although we're itching to get started, this is a very big project and some things take longer than our excitement can handle!

The great news is that it IS moving forward and we're not the types to twiddle our thumbs till we get the lease.

So! What can we do?

1. An application has been submitted for funding for an outdoor cinema. This way we can all get together in a safe or enclosed space while we wait for our lease and raise funds for the park. 💰

2. We are contacting schools to arrange workshops so that YOU can plan the playground. Every family can design the perfect park for their child. Then the most popular items will go into the final design. If you would like us to come to your child's school please comment with the name below. 🏫

3. We have ordered the best merchandise to start us off with our fundraising. They're running a little late but should be here soon! 😎

5. ANYONE who fundraises for Juggernauts will get a plaque mounted on the piece of equipment that they helped raise money for. We want everyone to be able to see what they helped achieve and see how many people came together to make it happen.

6. Please let other SEN families know that this is happening. This is a million pound project, it isn't going to be easy but it is going to be EPIC! 💪

7. We will be sharing our information booklet over the next few days so that everyone is up to date and on the same page. Feel free to share your suggestions to improve it.

Today we were invited to attend the annual general meeting of this very special place. The people who run CommUnity Corner are the ones who helped get our SEN outdoor family fun days started, which then led to the amazing 7th Wigan Squirrels: Revolution

We are incredibly lucky to have been welcomed in by such a supportive organisation!

They even made space to celebrate our plans for our SEN park!

The feedback questionnaires have been sent out, please check your spam and complete it. We really do listen to your suggestions.

After the summer sessions you said:
⏰ You would prefer no set sessions so that you could enjoy the day at your child's pace.
✔️ We removed the set sessions
🏫 The children would prefer more activities inside the building
✔️ We added a sensory tent, even more snacks, trains and more!
🚽 Better facilities.
✔️ We've added a temporary changing bed but we are working on making everything the best it can be, this is a much bigger project so will take time.

Having your feedback also helps secure funding for future events and projects.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Easter outdoor play days! We will be sending out a feedback form soon, they are a big help when asking for funding so the more responses we get the better!

Also, big thank you to everyone who helped with the events...

Bounce A Lot Northwest ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ They went above and beyond to make sure that the children had their inflatables. Always reliable and quality products, thank you 👏

Wigan Children's Speech and Language Therapy who are always so eager to come and provide support to our children. They put so much time into the communication boards and are so helpful on the day! 👏

Northern heart and Soul CIC who help us with the funding, hold the funds and also pay all of our vendors on time! They are our biggest cheerleader and we'd be lost without them 👏

7th Wigan Squirrels: Revolution a team of parents who come together to help our children be their best! They do all the clean up and set up and we're so excited to see what else the Squirrels achieve!

Sandra & Jayne our cleaners, toy providers, brew makers and gate keepers. Always giving up their time for our kids, they're amazing 👏

And of course, our kids! Who make us proud every day and brought us all together!

Where it all began. 🌱⛅
We knew there was a need for SEN families to have a safe outdoor space during school holidays. We knew this because we're one of them.

In 2025 we reached out to the amazing people at Northern Heart & Soul CIC and explained our struggles, they instantly jumped to action. They also introduced us to a local primary school, Wigan Councils HAF team and our local scouts group.

The groups were also supported by Wigan's speech and language team, direct payments team, family support teams, embrace, local fire service and so many more!

Everyone came together to create an amazing, supportive and safe environment for these children.

We will be continuing these sessions in 2026 with th hope to find a permanent home and expand our offering of opportunities.
