Statement

TO BE CLEAR!!

The Heaton group as private owners of the cotton works formerly known as Eckersley mill site is a Wigan based company who initially planned to rehouse the rink in another building on site.

Economic Costs now mean that it is impossible financially at this time , maybe in the future and following investment that will change.

The Heaton Group have helped point us in the direction of a department within the council that could be very helpful to us going forward and a few positive meetings have already taken place.

We are as a company looking at alternative buildings in Wigan at the moment.

Today I have been informed that The Heaton Group are also looking for a suitable alternative venue on our behalf. They want skating to stay in Wigan and have been as helpful as possible toward our company.

I am extremely grateful for the public support however I will NOT stand for threats being made to anyone in their place of work. It’s not necessary and we do not condone that behaviour at all.

The Heaton Group are trying to save as much of the site here as possible and have done an outstanding job so far but are constrained as is everyone by finances.

Threats to any company or persons working towards a positive outcome for this issue will not be tolerated.

We appreciate again only positive support.
