It's 4 years to the day since we purchased the Royal Court Theatre at auction. It's been a challenge with a number of hiccups along the way. BUT, we're getting there and lots of progress has been made.

We've had a great team of people working on it and a huge 90% of the workforce and companies we've used are based in the Wigan borough. We've also upskilled a number of trades people to work on heritage buildings and have secured full time jobs for them. The whole journey is important to us: people, place, heritage, community, culture and the arts.

We've still got to raise some funds to complete it but we're on it and are still hopeful for a 2023 opening.

Thanks to everyone who's supported us on this journey and thank you all of you who comment and share our story. It keeps us going knowing how many people want a large theatre in Wigan.

For those of you who aren't aware, we are also involved in the redevelopment of Wigan Pier and at the end of this month we'll be putting on a show - mid-renovation!!

It's a unique opportunity to watch Bunker of Zion, a colourful celebration of Zimbabwean culture; with live music, dance & song.

We're reopening this iconic venue (formally The Way We Were museum) for 3 nights only, we're merging Wigan's heritage with the joyous sounds & dancing from Zimbabwe - this truly is culture shaking hands.

The smell in the Royal Court Theatre has noticeably improved recently. We've stripped back the rotten plaster and the horrible damp smell has finally gone 🙌. Now all the original features can be seen clearly and are ready for the next phase.
