If you can’t to blonde, go BRIGHT! 💡🌈

Absolutely loved creating this huge transformation on the beautiful Abbey
Our goal is eventually to be a pale silver all over as Abbey is a natural blonde, during this session I lifted the hair as light as I could creating something that is striking and impactful but also we can easily transition from whilst having fun switching it up along the way 🙌🏽

My entry for the colour trophy 2023 on my beautiful model I had the best time yesterday working on this lemon & lilac creation, it’s been years since I entered a competition and I sooo enjoyed creating this from start to finish fingers crossed I get through 🤞🏽

My client Mel loves to change up her colour every appointment, our last visit was a vibrant copper with a pink accent and this time we turned up the volume and went for this sunset inspired haircolour 🌅

I have a 1 or 2 hair colour appointments across November left for any of my clients who may need a touch up or refresh. The full works for my lovely client Megan, our last appointment together was almost 8 months ago lifting out a previous copper tone so our goal this time was to create something brighter, blended and a colour that will go the distance 💡

This service included a variation of highlights/lowlights, balayage, root shadow, all over toner, treatment and cut & styling 😮‍💨💥

Starting the week off with this platinum precision work I did on my lovely client on Saturday 💡
due to lockdown Lauren’s roots where much longer than usual (around 3 inches) she is naturally a dark blonde (level 6) with a visible golden reflect, so for this I used my friend James Atkinson’s () long bleach regrowth application technique and it has never failed me yet 🙌🏽
Seriously if you aren’t following this guy you’re missing a trick 😌

This situation is seriously an anomaly but using this technique I was able to achieve this crystal clean result without any breakage (the larger the root the greater the risk) and also maintain condition and strength using the new Acidic Bonding Concentrate system. Ask me in salon to upgrade your service using this system, your hair will thank you for it 😉

Who loves a processing shot? 📸🧩

Freehand is something we all do so differently, yet just by looking at the way the hair has been painted I think generally we can identify amongst us who it belongs to 🤟🏽💥

When I do freehand work I usually focus on balance over symmetry - this means that the hair that is left out and uncoloured is just as important as the hair that is painted as this contributes to a seamlessly blended and expensive result. With balayage I really don’t like to over complicate things, I keep it simple and methodical, for instance a full head application I will typically use my staple brickwork and diagonal forward technique that works with painting anywhere between 8-14 pieces, this is all dependant on hair density, haircut and also the desired end result. I always paint with a power painter from and use the precut cling wrap from Essentials UK (this i can’t live without - if you know, you know 😂)

2️⃣0️⃣1️⃣2️⃣💥 when all I knew was melting with permanent colour and wondering why I could never lift past orange 🧐🤣

This picture on the left recently came up on my memories and I remember feeling really proud of it at the time! It’s interesting to look back and see not just how much the way we colour hair has changed, but also the whole approach to hair colour and how it’s so much more technical and time consuming. I love to look back at work I’ve done and consider how I would adapt and change it 🤓

2️⃣ years ago I started my journey to be a certified colourist with this talented bunch

I’ve always took a keen interest to colour science, the how 🧪 and the why 🧩 so when I was given the opportunity by to do this I could not wait to dive into this 🤓 RCH was probably one of the most challenging things I’ve ever done in my career it was definitely worth the stress 😂 ! But it gave me so many valuable tools as a colourist so that I can confidently tackle any colour conundrum that sits in my chair 🎓👨🏽‍🎓

I miss times like this 🤩
