❤️ 🧥 108 coats donated. 108 acts of kindness.

A huge thank you to our colleagues and residents for their incredible generosity. Together, we've donated an amazing 108 winter coats to help local adults and children stay warm this winter.

The collection received fantastic support across our workplaces and independent living schemes, with people coming together to support those who may be finding the colder months difficult.

Earlier this week, our Social Impact and Engagement team delivered the donations to Halton & St Helens Voluntary and Community Action, which will distribute them to local individuals and families who need them most.

We're teaming up with local residents to give the Bridge Street area a little TLC and we'd love your help. Whether you can spare an hour or stay for longer, every helping hand makes a difference. Together we'll be:

🚑 Helping to Keep Halton's Defibrillators Rescue Ready ❤️

We're proud to support Aidan’s fundraising for Community Defibrillators - Aidansteddybearchallenge with a £1,000 grant from our Helping Hands Fund, made possible through the Travis Perkins Legacy Fund.

The funding will help cover the ongoing costs of maintaining community defibrillators across Halton, including replacement pads, batteries and emergency rescue kits, ensuring these lifesaving devices are ready when they're needed most.

The award comes as the project celebrates an incredible milestone, with the installation of its 50th community defibrillator across the borough. 🎉

Well done to Aidan and everyone involved in this fantastic initiative, which continues to make Halton a safer place for residents and visitors alike.

Thanks to funding from our Helping Hands Fund, local organisation Mirror Image Community Training is delivering free mental health and wellbeing sessions for young people in Runcorn.

The sessions provide a safe and welcoming space to build confidence, make new friends, learn new skills and improve wellbeing.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in our Crow Wood Lane community clean-up day!

Residents, Halton Housing colleagues and AKM Homes worked side by side to tidy the area, support responsible waste disposal and plant spring flowers for the whole community to enjoy.

It's a great example of how, by working together, we can create cleaner, greener and more welcoming neighbourhoods for everyone.

Fancy gaining a fully funded Level 2 Swim Instructor qualification and taking the first step towards a potential new career?

Through our Destination Kingsway initiative, working with Active Halton, we have three fully funded places available for eligible residents living within the Kingsway area. But be quick, expressions of interest close at 1pm today.

It’s a fantastic opportunity to gain a recognised qualification, with the potential opportunity for permanent employment as a swim instructor with the Halton Leisure team following successful completion of the course.

Successful applicants will be invited to an in-person interview at Halton Leisure Centre, so you’ll need to be available on either Monday 12th or Tuesday 13th October, as well as for the full course, which runs every day from 26th to 31st October.

🌱 What a difference a day makes!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our recent Avondale Spruce Up Your Streets event.

Residents, colleagues and local partners came together to give the neighbourhood some TLC, from creating a welcoming community growing space with fruit trees, raised planters and a new picnic bench, to tackling fly tipping, litter and overgrown areas.

It was a fantastic team effort and a brilliant example of our Thriving Communities priority in action, helping to create places where people are proud to live.

📢 Have Your Say at the Bankfield Tenants and Residents Group

Do you live in Bankfield and want to make a difference in your community?

Join us on Thursday 8 October, from 5pm to 6pm, at St Michael with St Thomas Church, Ditchfield Road, Widnes, for the next Bankfield Tenants and Residents Group meeting. Residents can meet with local councillors, Halton Housing colleagues and the local PCSO to discuss issues, share ideas and help shape the future of the neighbourhood.

The meeting is open to all Bankfield residents aged 18+, whether you're a Halton Housing customer or not. We'd love to see you there!
