Hello, followers of the Choir!

We are Whitstable's longest-running pop, soul and rock community choir. I (Emily Peasgood) set the choir up in 2011.

We have a concert on Saturday at St Alphege Church, and you can get tickets on the door (it starts at 7pm). We are a non-profit making organisation (a community interest group) and only sell tickets to fund rehearsals.

If you like heart-warming songs, sung by local people from all walks of life (aged 18 - 91), it would be great to see you there.

We sing songs by: Queen, Talking Heads, Toto, Beyonce, Madonna and Jose Gonzalez, which are specially adapted/arranged for the choir by my co-choir leader, Phil Self.

I've attached two short videos from our rehearsal last night, along with a testimonial from a local resident (found in another local resident's group by chance!).

We would love a big audience this year!

Hi friends,

I’m thrilled to announce that I am a Music Patron Composer 🎉

It's a bit like Patreon but it's new, for composers.

I've joined as I'm going to be taking a radical new direction in my creative practice this year. More info on that will come, but the emoji summary / clue is: 🍑💧🛢️✨🐘💨🔮

Music Patron is a new, ambitious platform connecting patrons and composers. With a one-off or regular monthly donation, anyone can join the community of patrons changing the status quo of the music industry.

A few snaps from our evening under the beautiful skies of Tankerton.
Thanks to Ruth and family for hosting. Our social events give us a chance to get to know everyone, especially those in other singing parts who we don't sit with regularly at rehearsals.
Our term has now finished, and we'll be starting again September 20th

Had a great time on Wednesday! As you may be aware we are now lead by Emily and Phil Self, who'll be leading again next Wednesday. Here we are singing one of Phil's arrangements of I'll Fly Away - we really enjoyed this one!
