We are absolutely ecstatic to announce that in honour of the National Year of Reading, the bound has been awarded the Penguin Children's Bookshop Grant!! 🐧

Scientific studies have shown that reading to young children can strengthen emotional bonds, relax busy brains and even help with cognitive development - but reading aloud can be a daunting task for adults who haven't picked up a picture book in years! That's why we'll soon be announcing our four-week storytime course aimed at helping adults who care for a young child boost their confidence in reading stories aloud.

Adults of Whitley Bay, keep your eyes peeled for further announcements - and a massive THANK YOU to Penguin for the opportunity to bring joy back to reading aloud!
