Absolute Beginners’ Dressmaking
Learn all the basics to begin creating your own
clothes. All fabric provided but you need to buy
the pattern we will be making.

Inspired by The Great British Sewing Bee? Learn the very basics of dressmaking to start you on your journey. We will create a simple summer dress from a sewing pattern, teaching many of the basic techniques used in more complex designs.

Hi everyone
It’s been a slow start to the New Year for me due to a number of reasons but I’ve got some fun workshops planned for this year, starting with our ever-popular Absolute Beginners’ Sewing Machine Workshop.

Following on from this will be the commencement of a series of full-day dressmaking classes including a short-sleeved blouse, trouser making, skirt making and learning to sew with stretch fabrics to create a lovely wrap-style dress.

A new addition to my regular workshops will be a series of up-cycling classes to use up all those scraps and charity-shop finds to create sone unique clothing and fashion accessories.

Finally, if like me you are a bit of a clothes addict, check out our sister page - The Frock Exchange. This is a new venture for 2026 so we can all do our bit for the planet by selling our pre-loved quality fashion clothing and accessories. (A bit like ‘Vinted’ but a chance to try on before you buy). I will also be selling some unique pieces created by upcycling unwanted textiles.

Now that Autumn is well and truly here, I have scheduled a number of weekend and evening crafty sessions to bring some creativity and fun into these dark months. DRESSMAKING - SUITABLE FOR TOTAL BEGINNERS WHO KNOW HOW TO USE A SEWING MACHINE
*Make a winter skirt - Full Day - £60.00
*Make a pair of trousers - Full Day - £60.00
*Learn to sew stretch fabrics. Make a Dress - £60.00
*All practice fabric provided but you must purchase the recommended sewing pattern to be cut to your own size

Our monthly Wednesday evening group of ladies are nearing completion of our lovely set of 12 felt ornaments. For those wishing to take up the challenge next year, we will repeat the monthly sessions, as well as starting our new set ‘The Night Before Christmas’. BEGINNERS’ NEEDLEFELTING WORKSHOP
SAT 1st MARCH 10-3. £55.00
Join us to learn the fascinating and addictive art of needlefelting and create a small hare or sheep.
All tools and materials as well as patterns provided, for you to keep and take home as well as full tuition.
This workshop is great fun for all ages, but not suitable for children due to the use of sharp needles.
Message to book your place. Limited to 6 people.

Hi everyone. A very belated Happy New Year. I hope you all are raring to go by joining in our range of craft activities being planned for 2025. To kick-start the year, we are holding our popular Absolute Beginners’ Sewing Machine workshop (8th February) and Absolute Beginners’ Dressmaking workshop (15th February), prices £45 and £60 respectively.
