Hi everyone
It’s been a slow start to the New Year for me due to a number of reasons but I’ve got some fun workshops planned for this year, starting with our ever-popular Absolute Beginners’ Sewing Machine Workshop.

Following on from this will be the commencement of a series of full-day dressmaking classes including a short-sleeved blouse, trouser making, skirt making and learning to sew with stretch fabrics to create a lovely wrap-style dress.

A new addition to my regular workshops will be a series of up-cycling classes to use up all those scraps and charity-shop finds to create sone unique clothing and fashion accessories.

Finally, if like me you are a bit of a clothes addict, check out our sister page - The Frock Exchange. This is a new venture for 2026 so we can all do our bit for the planet by selling our pre-loved quality fashion clothing and accessories. (A bit like ‘Vinted’ but a chance to try on before you buy). I will also be selling some unique pieces created by upcycling unwanted textiles.

Now that Autumn is well and truly here, I have scheduled a number of weekend and evening crafty sessions to bring some creativity and fun into these dark months. DRESSMAKING - SUITABLE FOR TOTAL BEGINNERS WHO KNOW HOW TO USE A SEWING MACHINE

*Learn to sew stretch fabrics. Make a Dress - £60.00
*All practice fabric provided but you must purchase the recommended sewing pattern to be cut to your own size

Join us to learn the fascinating and addictive art of needlefelting and create a small hare or sheep.
All tools and materials as well as patterns provided, for you to keep and take home as well as full tuition.
This workshop is great fun for all ages, but not suitable for children due to the use of sharp needles.

Our last Sewing Machine Beginners’ Workshop for the year will be a little bit special with mince pies and a glass of bubbly, mulled wine or non-alcoholic refreshment.

Do you have a sewing machine gathering dust and don’t know how to use it? Have have always wanted to learn to sew, or have asked Santa to bring you a machine for Christmas?

Then come along and learn the basics and enjoy creating a small pouch/bag.

ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS’ DRESSMAKING
Saturday 28th September 10-4pm £65.00

Our Autumn/Winter schedule continues with another chance to learn basic dressmaking skills. Following on from our spring/summer classes when we made some lovely tops, this time we will make a simple long-sleeved winter shift dress (or shorter version to wear over leggings.) You will learn how to read and interpret a paper pattern, choose fabrics, cut out your chosen style and basic construction techniques. At the end of the day you will take home a lovely dress to wear.

All fabric will be provided so that you can practice making the garment without fear of making a mistake and ruining expensive material but you will need to buy your own pattern. You can then re-use the pattern to make the garment again in your own choice of fabric.

We have chosen ’The Ultimate Shift Dress’ by Sew Over It Available from many on-line retailers.

We have just 3 places available to ensure personal tuition.
