💃 MEET THE LIGHT WORKS ARTISTS: KATY HIGGINS 💃

Light Works 2026 is coming to Workington and Seascale - and professional dancer and choreographer Katy Higgins is getting West Cumbria moving!

Katy will be working with the dance class at Whitehaven Academy to create a special performance for Light Works 2026, as well as working with local groups and communities to get everyone involved.

You don’t need to be an experienced dancer. Whether you love to dance or have never danced before, Katy wants to get people moving, having fun and discovering what they can do.

✨ TOMORROW! COME AND HELP CREATE LIGHT WORKS 2026!

It’s the last week of the summer holidays, so why not get creative and help make this year’s Light Works celebrations extra special?

Come along to one of Celia Burbush’s free Light, Lanterns & Celebration workshops tomorrow!

Celia is back for Light Works 2026, helping local people of all ages create amazing wicker lanterns and decorations for our opening parades in Seascale.

And it’s not just about making - we want your ideas too! What should it look, feel and taste like? What food and drink should be on offer? Come along, get creative and help shape the celebration!
