Good Morning from sunny Botton North Yorkshire. Its the final day of this years festival.Yesterday brought us more outstanding performances from our performers including the great talented Lost in the Loop. John and Lynne Ward finished off the Saturday concert. Today we have our Song Competition and appearances from Glaisdale Clog, and aline up including Wickenwood, Jenny Cook, The Browns,Beth Burrows, The Blow Ins, Lost in the Loop, John & Lynne Ward, Square Peg, Jenny Cook , Joshua Arnold & Therine, Mel Langton, What larks, Tom Perry & Clive Brooks,The Water Chorus, Boathook Bald and Richard Grainger . Good morning from beautiful Botton on day 2 or the magnificent festival. Yes yesterday was a cracker with highlights throughout the day. Great sets from Alex Akiba, The Water Chorus, Shepherd & Simpson and Square Peg. All our performers were fab and the audience just loved Mel Langton's Foyer Folk set.
We're being visited by the excellent HARLEQUIN NORTH WEST MORRIS today so give them a great reception when you see them..

Many of our visiting performers have CD's to sell. It's an important part of their income which also gives a lasting connection with the listener. If you like what you hear from one or more of the festival performers , why not take a look at the CD's on sale at the table, situated in the festival entrance. They'll be forever grateful. Online music sites nearly destroyed the recording market for performers , but we are fighting back promoting the sale of CD's (and vinyl) which we think is to everyone's benefit. Klondike Folk Arts Song Competition 2026
our 24th Annual Song Competition will take place this Sunday July 12th at 11am. You can take part if you have a day or weekend festival ticket or you are a booked festival performer.
Over the years, we have heard some brilliant songs and met so many new and established songwriters. We hope if you feel you've got something to share just pop your name to the front desk and book your place. One song played acoustically,,no longer than 6 minutes. Winner gets the opportunity of performing the song on the main stage , a token cash prize of £50 and the prestigious winners cetificate. Joan of Arc Hall situated in Botton Village is at the heart of our festival where most of our workshops,singarounds, concerts and the ceilidh take place. We also have two other venues a( The Studio - a small concert hall and b) St Brides a smaller more intimate venue for smaller workshops and sessions. Today all activities are centred on the Joan of Arc Hall. Where you'll find a continuing programme of singers musician in Foyer Folk from around 3.00pm. The bar opens at 2.00pm . Good morning from sun drenched Botton Village in North Yorkshire. Getting ready to greet you on arrival at the Great North Folk Festival. Camp site opens at 12noon and the fun starts shortly afterwards...3.00pm in the LIBRARY Early Bird Open Session with Roger Sutcliffe and Mel Langton. At 3.30pm Foyer Folk kicks off with The BROWNS - worth getting in early for!! Later on a SINGAROUND at 5.00pm and Meet The John Ward Trio at 7.00 followed by Festival Folk Club with your hosts Tom Perry & Clive Brooks and in the Main Hall the Evening Concert. Grab a programme on arrival and pick your spot. Enjoy!!
