LIMOUSIN BULL | 2008
A significant piece from Emma Stothardâs sculptural archive, is available to acquire. Returning to the studio after more than a decade at Le Manoir aux QuatâSaisons, Raymond Blancâs renowned Michelin-starred restaurant in Oxfordshire.
Originally created in 2008 for an exhibition at Eton College, this hand-crafted Limousin bull was subsequently exhibited at Newby Hall as part of Emmaâs 2011 solo show debut, before finding a long-term home at Le Manoir from 2013 onwards.
The sculpture was also featured on the front cover of Yorkshire Post magazine in 2009.
Constructed by hand from willow and wire, the bull incorporates an authentic bull ring sourced from Haggis Farm in Sandsend.
The sculpture has recently returned to Emmaâs studio and is now being prepared for refurbishment, presenting a rare opportunity to acquire a piece with a substantial exhibition and collection history.
The sculpture is accompanied by:
- Two original drawings documenting the bull during its early stages of development
- The original wire study created prior to the finished sculpture
- An authentic bull ring incorporated into the sculpture
