AMK Dance Academy AMK Dance Academy is an IDTA approved dance school based in Wetherby / Boston spa, West Yorkshire. Qualifies me to be an IDTA Adjudicator.

About Us

In October 1969 Mavis Booth founded the Mavis Booth School of Dance, which would become the predecessor of the AMK Dance Academy. It is initially a theatre dance school offering ballet, tap and modern jazz dance instruction to pupils age 3 yrs to 18 plus. In 2005 after training within the school I, Adele-Marie Kaye took over and became the AMK Dance Academy. I am continuing my studies to

become an official IDTA Examiner. My Qualifications include
West Yorkshire Junior Modern Champion
West Yorkshire Junior Tap Champion
Senior Yorkshire tap champion
Associate Ballet, Modern jazz, Tap achieved in 1985
Membership Ballet, Modern Jazz achieved in 1987
Fellowship Modern Jazz obtained 2012. Various professional work over the years: Blackpool Opera House, Grand Theatre Leeds, International Cabaret and now also working in education
Over 20 years of Teaching Dance to all ages

Reminder for tomorrow’s show day!!!!

Dress rehearsal and the performance are being held at King James School Knaresborough.

Rehearsal

0915 -All dancers must be at King James
1130 - Younger dancers to be collected to have a rest before our performance
1220- older dancers rehearsal will finish and can go home if they wish.

Performance

3:00pm - All dancers must be back at King James School to finish getting ready.
4:00pm - performance will start.

Looking forward to having a fun filled day with you all tomorrow.

Hi all,

Good morning, due to the unexpected snowfall this morning for saftey we have decided to cancel lessons this morning.

I hope everyone stays warm and safe and enjoys a snow day 😃.

We are starting our new term at AMK dance academy on Tuesday 3rd September at Wetherby town hall and Saturday 7th September at Boston spa jubilee hall.

We are looking forward to seeing all our returning dancers and are very keen to meet some new faces to our dance school.

We do have some spaces left for enrolment in September so if you have a budding young dancer that wants have a trial session please get in touch we would love to meet them.

Hi, does your child want to learn to dance? We are a family run IDTA accredited dance school. Who have had over 60 year history of 100% pass exam results, amazing wins at competitions and students that have gone on to work professionally in dance and performing arts.

Our summer term dates are;
Tuesdays 16th April 2024- 9th July 2024, Half term off 28th May 2024
Saturdays 20th April 2024- 13th July 2024, Half term off 1st June 2024

WOW!!!! What an amazing day! Well done to everyone involved in our show yesterday. All of the dancers worked soooo hard. I am so proud of all of you. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and I can’t wait to see you all in the new year.
