Capturing wildlife - great or small - has been a passion of mine for a very long time. From 'Jock', the spectacular Silverback male gorilla at Bristol Zoo to 'Sam', a white Westie from Westonzoyland, Somerset. All tell a story, all pose challenges, all a pleasure to create. Even before my graduation from Falmouth College of Art in 2001 with a BA (Hons) degree in Illustration, animals played a huge part in my life. I was constantly surrounded by cats (thanks Mum), the odd canine interloper (thanks Dad), fish (there were always fish) and the generous livestock that frequent the green and pleasant pastures of this beautiful corner of the west of England and my base of Weston-super-Mare. This passion has led to a career - Illustration Lecturer by day, Wildlife Illustrator by night - exhibiting as part of the Wildlife Artist of the Year, 2009, at the Mall Galleries in London, together with gallery exhibitions in Falmouth, Cirencester and Weston-super-Mare. I love all creatures...well, we won't mention spiders...but most of all I love challenging myself to capture their true likeness with accuracy, dedication but most of all enjoyment.
