Just Stitch

I create handmade accessories and gifts, including embroidered hair clips, jewellery, bookmarks, mirrors, and other small keepsakes. Every item is carefully designed and made by hand, with lots of attention to detail and a love for beautiful craftsmanship.

What started as a hobby while raising my two daughters has grown into a small business that brings me so much joy. I love creating unique pieces that make people smile and can be treasured for years to come.

Coppertop Cards

Susi, the creator, designer and general all do-er of Coppertop Cards, aims to share positivity, with simple design and beautiful lettering.
After loving Art and Design at A'level, Susi then followed her dream to become a doctor. She spent 17 happy years in medicine, including 11 years as a GP in Devon, before sadly illness brought this to an abrupt end.
Coppertop Cards is hence full of positivity and optimism, initially starting out as a distraction, evolving organically, reconnecting Susi to her creative side, and slowing life down to a more suitable 'new normal', but still giving a much needed sense of purpose!
Based in South Somerset, Coppertop Cards was founded in 2018, and aims to bring joy to all who receive our products, by putting a smile on their faces with a thoughtful, hand lettered card, created with love, for every occasion! Our cards are designed and printed in house, using recycled and recyclable products wherever possible, and sent out 'naked', in plastic free packaging.

Today's spotlight is on Joanne Hawker

Joanne Hawker Design & Illustration

Joanne Hawker is a designer and maker based in Somerset who creates a range of illustrated goodies. These include her local landmark and coastline prints covering Exmoor and the North Somerset beaches of Burnham-on-Sea and Weston-Super-Mare.

You can also find birthflower bookmarks covered in beautiful flowers and bumblebees relating to each month of the year. For any crafters out there, she also creates project bags to store your latest craft project, or to hide those new craft materials that you didn’t need but really wanted! As well as wooden bird pins and floral wooden earrings all printed on wood from managed forests!
