WENDY HEYWOOD

Wendy’s dance journey began with her first class at age three and has remained a huge part of her life ever since. She trained at the Lupino School of Dance, progressing through IDTA examinations in all Theatre subjects while also participating in festivals, championships, stage productions, and television.

With over 40 years of teaching experience, Wendy continues to be passionate about making the joy of Dance accessible to people of all ages and abilities. As the principal of her school, she trains students from their first steps to professional level, and mentors teachers pursuing further qualifications, fostering growth and development within the Dance community.

A life member of the IDTA, Wendy has served on the North West Area Committee, the IDTA Theatre Dance Festival committee for more than three decades, and is part of the organising team for the IDTA Theatre Dance Awards. In her role as an examiner, both in the UK and internationally, she has been privileged to experience the wealth of talent our Association produces. Wendy is proud to serve on the Board of Directors, where she strives to promote the IDTA and represent its members to the best of her ability.

Dance Explosion 2026❣️

What an incredible experience taking part in Dance Explosion for the very first time yesterday at ! ✨

Our dancers truly gave it their all, performing with confidence, passion and huge smiles. We couldn't be prouder of every single one of them.

A massive thank you to the amazing Miss Liza for her incredible choreography, creativity and dedication❣️

One of the most special parts of the day was seeing our dancers support and encourage one another, while also cheering on performers from the other dance schools. That kindness, teamwork and respect is exactly what dance is all about.

We are proud beyond words of everything our dancers have achieved. What a fantastic day and a wonderful memory for our dance school🌟

One year ago, I took the leap and became the owner of our wonderful dance school. What an incredible year it has been!

Over the past 12 months, we've put on a fantastic Christmas show, celebrated amazing exam results, and successfully introduced our Musical Theatre classes, with students achieving Honours in their exam. I couldn't be prouder of every dancer for their hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm.

As we look ahead, excitement is building for Dance Explosion at The Lowry in just a couple of weeks' time. The dancers are working so hard in rehearsals, and I can't wait to see them shine on stage.

There's no slowing down!

Plans are already underway for our next Christmas show, and I’m so excited about everything the coming year has in store.

A huge thank you to all our students, parents, student teachers and teachers .curme . Your encouragement, commitment, and belief in the school make all of this possible.

An extra special thank you to for her unwavering support, guidance, and encouragement throughout this journey. Your knowledge, kindness, and belief in me have meant more than you'll ever know, and I am incredibly grateful for everything.

⭐So proud of our Senior Musical Theatre group for achieving Honours in their first ever MT Team exam where they performed Nicest Kids in Town⭐
