Jeffrey Howard BEM was born in Cardiff and studied at the University of Wales College, Cardiff and the Royal Academy of Music, London.
He is Director of Music at St John’s College and Cardiff Metropolitan Cathedral. He has worked with Sir Bryn Terfel, Sir Willard White, Alfie Boe, and Dame Shirley Bassey, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Welsh National Opera, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and Budapest Symphony Orchestra.
Jeff has appeared as keyboard soloist with Karl Jenkins, as Vocal Coach at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Welsh National Opera, Wales International Academy of Voice and Vocal Tutor at Cardiff and Bristol Universities.
Notable performances have been at the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, St Paul’s Cathedral, Notre Dame de Paris and Washington National Cathedral. Jeff frequently works with Songs of Praise, S4C, Shan Cothi and Wynne Evans. He is a recipient of the Joseph Parry Award for services to Welsh music, the Associateship of the Royal Academy of Music, and was awarded the British Empire Medal in 2019.
