Thanks to everyone who posted kindness re my buggered truck.
Today I have mostly been trying to pull out the r/h half shaft .
No amount of levering will set it free as it’s now clear the wheel bearing collapsed and it’s welded itself to the shaft.
How do I know?
Well I took the bloody grinder to it and cut off the end of the shaft!!!!
Now it’s just the 65mm nut to deal with which also looks welded up and I need more hands for this!!!!
Hopefully once off it will reveal why I had no drive either.. maybe shaft has snapped or diff?
Either way it’s looking more like a second hand axle may be needed!!!

My Annus Horribilus continues, the sooner 2026 is over the better.

Looks like the rear axle has broken on the truck, left me stranded on a motorway slip with a car on the bed with the AA refusing to recover me because they changed their conditions without advising us on renewal this year.( let the battle commence )
Very grateful to JC Recovery for their excellent service in my hour of need and for lightening my pocket !!!’

Wher’ve you been today then Colin?

Well … up to Rutland with the ‘Fat Mini’, then as it would be rude not to, stopped again at Wansford Station on the Nene Valley Railway for a sarnie!!

Closed today as it only runs Wednesday to Sunday.
It’s such a cool place 😎

Popped in to Bearstead on the Green show today on my way to a job in Kennington, which we will store until it’s onward journey on Tuesday to Stamford .
It is true, we will move a ‘fat’ Mini too !!!

As for Bearstead, saw the ‘Pooleymobile’ ( if you know, you know), got a wave from Nigel Tandy and had a quick chat with Chris Shiers.

Stopped to pick up some parts from our friends at JAYAR then on to discuss engines … watch this space !

Finished today with Mr Peacocks Es**rt back on the truck in readiness for a day on the rollers at HT Racing…Wot could possibly go wrong???? 🤪
