I'm an artist who loves working in acrylics and mixed media to create abstract and semi-abstract landscapes. I love to use loose, energetic and intuitive mark-making and layering of thin glazes and thick, juicy paint to convey my emotional response to the landscape inspiring me. I favour warm, earthy tones and pops of bright colour to create unexpected drama and excitement.

Myself and some of the other Divine 9 artists are showing work in Studio 1 of the Harbour Arts Centre, Irvine until the 11th of July, in collaboration with our mentor, Gillian Park Art , whose solo exhibition celebrating her 10 year anniversary of becoming a full-time artist is in it's final week at the venue.

Gillian's solo exhibition ends this Saturday, and as a final fling, she has organised an end event on Saturday from 1pm - 4pm which will include interactive elements, as well as the chance to meet some of the artists involved in the Divine 9 Collaborative and grab the opportunity to browse the exhibitions. If you haven't been yet - it's a feast for the eyes and you will not be disappointed!

I shall be bringing my messy sketchbooks, some collage bits and pieces and maybe even a gelplate so if you fancy a nosy and a chat, you would be very welcome!

Delighted to be part of this exhibition!

Iā€™m absolutely delighted to announce that seven artists from my recent mentoring programme, The Divine 9 Collective, are joining me as part of my LIVE LIFE IN COLOUR exhibition!

Their beautiful, bold and wonderfully varied work is now exhibited and available to buy in Studio 1 at the Harbour Arts Centre, Irvine, from 17 June until Saturday 11 July.

This exhibition is a celebration of the joy of creativity, collaboration and what can happen when artists support, encourage and champion one another.

I am incredibly proud of them and the work they have created. Please pop in, soak up all that glorious colour and see their wonderful work in person! And missing Janelles Art who can't join us this time.

Only a few spaces left for Saturday's workshop at my home studio in Kilmarnock.

Come along to learn this simple techniques which produces some wonderful, original prints to use in cards, collage and much more.

My studio is 10 mins walk from the Kilmarnock Bus or Train stations and there is plenty of on street parking available.

This time of year is ideal for gelprinting with botanicals - the flowers are blooming, the weeds are rampant and the grasses are at the stage of having seed heads, but not dry enough yet to stick to the plate!

If you would like to try creating your own prints, I am running a workshop next Saturday afternoon, the 20th of June (1-4 pm), in my garden studio in Kilmarnock. I have a few spaces available still so why not spend a lovely afternoon creating your own prints?

All materials (including plantlife) are included - and the workshop is suitable for everyone, complete beginners welcome!

You will head home with unique prints suitable for framing or cards, plus some wee extra goodies!

I'm all packed up and looking forward to my first Glasgow-based art fair at Art Space G41 in Shawlands.
Pop in if you can, it would be nice to see you!

I'm taking prints, hand-covered sketchbooks using my own gelprints, some textiles, mugs and coasters, cards and some lovely wee framed abstract originals. Something for everyone!

I do gift vouchers redeemable against any art or workshop bookings too - ideal for gifting when you don't want to choose art for someone else!

For all my Glasgow-based friends...and you, of course!
I will be at Art Space G41 in Shawlands Arcade this Saturday (6th) at their arts and crafts fair. It would be lovely to see some friendly faces, so pop in, browse and say hi! It's open 12 -5 pm on Saturday.

I will be bringing prints, hand-covered notebooks, some original paintings and much more for you to look at, and the other makers have some fabulous items in their stalls too!

Meanwhile, our McGilps Popup Shop is still running until Sunday at 4pm, I'm in today until 6.30pm and again on Sunday from 10am - 4pm.
