A MUST SEE!
Thursday 16 April 7-9pm at the Bedford Pub Station Rd HorshamFILM: TO HELL WITH CULTURE
In this film Huw Wahl explores the life and legacy of Herbert Read, the poet, art critic and anarchist described as the most significant writer on modern art in the twentieth century. A close friend of Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth and T.S. Eliot, Read helped to shape how we came to see modern art and literature. In the film Wahl interviews those who knew Read and a new generation of artists and writers influenced by his promotion of an anarchist approach to art and life. The film will be introduced by Dr Michael Paraskos of the University of London who is author of several books on Herbert Read, including Herbert Read: Art and Idealism (Orage Press, 2014).
