The Hit Parade Heroes had a great time performing our evening of R 'n' R at Henry's Blueshouse in West Bromwich. Thank you to Big Bear Music for bringing us to this pre-launch event.

Warren James Guitar & Banjo, Duncan Wilcox and Jools Aldridge made up tonight's trio and thannks to Morgan for filming us.

Catch us tomorrow night on Broad Street, Birmingham Rocks at Snobs Birmingham for our final before the Christmas break.

After Christmas we shall be performing The Johnny Cash Songbook at Broomfields Hall, at Solihull British Legion at 12:30 start, £10 cash on the door.

It was a pleasure to be invited to perform at the launch party for the 41st Birmingham Jazz & Blues Festival - our sincere thanks to all at Big Bear Music who make the event happen and prove that Birmingham Rocks ! Our next show is at Jazzamatazz, Coventry on Sunday lunch time at 12:30pm where the Skiffle Group will be performing - followed by The Hit Parade Heroes back on Broad Street at Snobs Birmingham

Following the UK's Skiffle music boom of 1956 kids became known as 'teenagers' and for the first time had a music that they could call their own. Many who cut their teeth in Skiffle Groups now began exchanging their washboards for drums, their tea chest bass for an proper electric bass and their old banjos for real guitars as their own musical tastes widened to the sounds across the Atlantic Ocean. It was in 1958 that Buddy Holly brought the first Fender Stratocaster guitar into the UK and from then on the door was wide open for the magnificent and energetic sounds of America to shake up old blighty forever. A new breed of music hero now dominated the British Hit Parade - with home grown talent such as Tommy Steele, Joe Brown, Lonnie Donegan, Adam Faith and Marty Wild and many other American stars such as Johnny Cash, Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent, The Everly Brothers and more. Enjoy 2 hours of musical nostalgia with Warren James as he remembers his Hit Parade Heroes.

For an afternoon of terrific live music entertainment and fun, head to The Ansty Club, Coventry where you'll be welcomed warmly by the Jazzamatazz Coventry and Solihull Jazz folks.
