Part of the joy of our spring landscapes are the wonderful sweep of the most intense yellow when the rapeseed fields bloom. But I ve always struggled with the overwhelming intensity of the colour. I just failed to make it work. I’ll keep trying, and I think in this glimpse through the trees I am finally getting somewhere. It started this way with bluebells too.

To convey a sense of detail without getting lost in it. I’m thinking the forest floor is a theme I can explore further this year and it’s an angle that’s still new to me.

This one s called spring and is the second I’m showing in the Chilterns Neuro Art popup. I wanted to capture that spring watery brightness and I’ve found showing the tree blossoms always a challenge. But I’m over all happy with it and think together with the bluebell glade they will make a nice pair. Both 52 cm x 40 cm and swill be on sale for £360. The pop up weekend occurs first full w/e of March (7th-8th).
