🦁🧙‍♂️ CASTING CALL – TWO BRILLIANT ROLES UP FOR GRABS! 🌈✨
Our wonderfully bonkers production of The Wizard of Oz is heading into rehearsals… and we’re still searching for TWO actors to join us!
🦁 THE COWARDLY LION – but not quite as you know him! Our Lion is an Emotional Support Lion: anxious, ultra-sensitive, obsessed with mindfulness, boundaries and finding courage in a suitably safe, non-triggering environment. A fantastic comedy role for someone with great timing and absolutely no fear of making a fool of themselves!
🧙‍♂️ BRUCE POTTER – THE WIZARD OF OZ – an incompetent, Australian-accented wizard who looks suspiciously Potter-ish, trained at Hogwash Academy and uses a chopstick as a wand. Need we say more?! 😂
This isn't your traditional Wizard of Oz. It's a fast-paced, modern, gloriously silly pantomime packed with big characters, running gags, audience participation and plenty of surprises.

We are looking for a man!...no not that sort of thing. We need a man to play Bruce Potter in our pantomime - The Wizard of Oz. A featured comic role with around 55 lines, appearing mainly in Act Two. Bruce Potter is a laid-back Aussie fake wizard — all confidence, no real magic but with a big personality, comic timing, and a chance to make a very funny impression. Follow the Yellow Brick Road… if the roadworkers have finished it by then.
We’re holding auditions for our fast-paced, funny and slightly surreal pantomime version of The Wizard of Oz — packed with big characters, audience participation, silly comedy, magical mayhem and one or two health and safety concerns along the way.
📅 Audition date: Wednesday 3rd June 2026
🕖 Time: 7:00pm
📍 Venue: 9 Codicote Road
We’ll be casting principal roles, featured comedy parts and ensemble roles, including:
Dorothy, Toto, Glinda, the Wicked Witch, Scarecrow, Tin Can Man, Emotional Support Lion, the Wizard, Gary, Lunchkins, Flying Monkeys, Yellow Brick Road Workers and more!

Sunday 29th November 2026
No need to prepare anything — just come along ready to read, have fun, be silly and give it a go.
