And Beltane will be coming soon to Priddy!
Priddy Folk Festival 10-12 July
Our dance Festival is free to see for everyone!

Priddy Folk Festival has announced its 2026 line-up, which means the village is once again preparing to host more music, dancing and organised good cheer than seems strictly possible for somewhere with about 600 residents.

There are ticketed concerts, free events, Morris sides, workshops, walks, young musicians and a giant called Fair Lady. So, yes, the Mendips are apparently getting quite busy in July.

It’s Sunday and Solstice, so let’s have a look round the Church.

We’re very happy at Priddy Folk Festival to have the village church, St Laurence’s as one of our venues.

The church is the place to go for poetry on Friday with poets, Katharine Towers, Jane Lovell, Mark Corcoran and Philip Rush reading their works.

On Saturday there will be music and singing with Three Rivers, the Heartwood Chorus, Unkempt, Will Pound and Jenn Butterworth, the English Fiddle Ensemble and Kitchen Kapele.

Following the Festival Service on Sunday morning, there will be more music from Moonfire, the Harry Browns, Jonas and Harbottle and the Mendip Folk Choir.

13th century faces will look down at you, with a rare 15th century altar frontal on Italian brocade to one side. Charming plaques commemorating local donations for heaters are a welcome modern addition which hopefully won’t be needed during the Festival itself!

Last year was the first time we hosted poetry at Priddy - and it went down so well, we’re doing it again!

We are delighted to welcome four poets who again will be reading their work at the 2026 Priddy Folk Festival:

Katharine Towers has published four collections with Picador, most recently The Worrying Rose. She has won the Seamus Heaney Prize and been shortlisted for the T.S. Eliot Prize.

Winner of the Ginkgo Prize, Jane Lovell explores our connection with the natural world. Her latest collection, Tipping Point, focuses on ancestral traditions, polar exploration and ecological fragility. She is currently collaborating with artist, David Suff, on a book of birds.

Mark Corcoran grew up on a farm in the Dublin Mountains. In 2025, he published his first poetry pamphlet, Some Invited Ghosts, with Yew Tree Press of Stroud. He’s working on his first full-length collection.

Philip Rush was born in Middlesex. Big Purple Garden Paintings was short-listed for the Aldeburgh First Collection Prize. He has collaborated with the photographer Andrew Fusek Peters; his most recent book of poems is Camera Obscura from The Garlic Press.

Poetry at Priddy will be at St Laurence Church at 7.30pm on Friday 10 July. Entry is free and all are welcome!
