Some of the local community in Falmouth were visited by The Guardian yesterday to share their thoughts and concerns about the proposed redevelopment of Falmouth Docks.

Their voices, and the voices of everyone who cares about the Fal Estuary and the Bay, deserve to be heard.

“We’re lucky to have this space,” said Kramer, who is an artist and scientific illustrator. “We use it for work, recreation and pleasure and it’s so scary to think that this could all be harmed. I worry about what we may be living with soon and what we’ll be leaving for future generations.”

There’s a lot happening around the proposed Falmouth Docks Dredge, and now is the time to get informed.

Join us at The Cornish Bank Falmouth, at 7pm on Monday 17th August for our next community meeting.

We’ll be hearing from local fishers, marine experts, NGOs, businesses and residents, we will also be inviting your local MP, councillors and Balaena to attend.

This is your opportunity to:

-Hear more about what’s being proposed
-Understand what could be at stake
-Ask questions
-Raise your concerns
-Find out how you can make your voice heard ahead of the 20th August Cornwall Council vote

If you can attend, please do. Capacity at The Cornish Bank is limited, so it will be first come, first served.

Can't make it? We'll be livestreaming the meeting on Instagram, so you can still follow along and hear what’s being discussed.

Everyone is welcome.

Monday 17th August | 7pm | The Cornish Bank, Falmouth, 34 Church St, Falmouth TR11 3EF

Thank you to The Cornish Bank for hosting us, and Jack Cowley • Illustrator for the graphic design.

We’re delighted to share some very special news…

From 1 August to 31 December, Cornwall Mind will be one of The Lost Gardens of Heligan Charities of the Year.

We’re so excited to be working alongside such a much-loved Cornish organisation, and this partnership means the world to us.

We’re passionate about the positive impact that nature, connection and community can have on our mental health and wellbeing, so this partnership feels like the perfect fit.

For many people, spending time in nature can be a simple but powerful way to support our wellbeing. Heligan is a wonderful place to slow down, explore, connect with others and take a moment away from the pressures of everyday life.

Over the coming months, you’ll see Cornwall Mind at Heligan for events and information days, where we’ll be talking about mental health, sharing more about our work and helping visitors discover the different ways they can support better mental health across Cornwall.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone at Heligan for choosing Cornwall Mind and for helping us reach even more people with an important message: mental health matters, and no one should have to face things alone.

We can’t wait to see what the next few months bring and to share this journey with you. 💙
