🦎 Happy Easter holidays all. I thought I’d pick this time to give people a bit of an update because of the lack of updates currently. Since we launched in 2021 we have successfully put on 4 shows - 2021 The Three Musketeers, 2022 The Jungle Book, 2023 Wind in the Willows and 2024 Sherlock’s Excellent Adventure - and all were received well by our audiences. However, as we came through the Covid years it has become harder to cast shows as all the other groups got going again. I thought we had cast our last show then a couple of circumstances meant it was proving too difficult. Also, because of a lack of her permanent venture, that also proved difficult. (Though I would say thanks to the Bishops Lydeard Players, have been particularly helpful with trying to make our next show work for us. Thanks also to other venues, such as Sheppy’s, who helped to make these shows happen.) However, we are now taking a little bit of a break. Many of us are also involved in other groups and CTC was launched at a time to fill in for a gap that was created in the local amateur theatre world. Whilst us “Chameleons” aren’t planning anything currently, I am hoping to be able to direct something locally soon (something is potentially on the cards) I’m not saying things won’t happen in future. If I see that gap opening again, and I see a group of actors/crew not involved with current shows elsewhere, I will jumping in with ideas but, for now, I’m happy to be involved with other groups and be a small cog rather than running the whole shebang. (Plus a pulled muscle slowed me down somewhat.) So for now, I’ll just use this page to promote what I, and fellow Chameleons, are up to. Once again, a Happy Easter holidays to all. Emma and fellow Chameleons. 🦎
