Nearly 6 years into this wonderfully wild Growing Minds journey and one thing I’ve learned is that these days I trust my experiences more than I trust the British weather! 😂🌦️
When I first stepped away from the corporate world, I had no idea where this adventure would take me. I just knew there had to be another way. A way where children could be children, where muddy puddles were celebrated, where learning happened through wonder, and where I could build something that genuinely made a difference.
Back then, I was exhausted. Constantly juggling expectations, targets and trying to keep everyone happy. Fast forward almost 6 years and whilst running a business certainly isn’t the easy option, I can honestly say I’ve never felt more fulfilled.
These days my office is often a woodland, a field, a community space or a patch of grass. I get to watch babies discover the world for the first time, see children build confidence through play, and witness friendships blossom between families who may never have met otherwise.
Of course, what you see for 90 minutes each week is only a tiny part of the picture. Behind every session are countless hours of planning, researching, creating, marketing, cleaning, packing, unpacking, risk assessing, investing and dreaming up new ways to make Growing Minds even more magical.
But every smile, every muddy pair of wellies, every returning family, every recommendation, every review and every child who leaves with rosy cheeks and a story to tell reminds me exactly why I started.
Growing Minds has given me something I never expected. It’s given me purpose, freedom, joy and the chance to be present for my own family whilst helping create memories for yours.
And this time next week, I’ll discover whether Growing Minds has made it through as a finalist in the Class Business Awards 2026. Thanks to your incredible support, I’ve been nominated across four categories, something that genuinely blows my mind.
Would becoming a finalist be amazing? Absolutely.
But the truth is, every time you choose a Growing Minds experience, recommend me to a friend, book a party, attend a session, leave a review or trust me with your precious little people, you’ve already given me something far more valuable than any award.
