A little while ago I washed some bisque ware and then didn’t get around to glazing it straight away. A few days later I noticed these yellow marks appearing and wasn’t sure whether I’d be wasting my time glazing it.

So I asked for help, and lots of potters shared their experiences and reassured me it was unlikely to be a problem. Thankfully they were right 😊

The yellow marks completely disappeared after the glaze firing.

I did a bit of digging and chatted to more potters to understand why this happened. From what I could gather, this can happen when minerals and impurities in the clay are drawn to the surface as the water dries.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to reply to my stories and share their tips. It definitely stopped me worrying about glazing these pots 💛

Ive been trying to learn Rams Head Wedging for a couple of years now. My clay just keeps growing bigger and bigger horns 😅

Everytime I fold the ends back in, I feel like I’m back where I started. Am I doing something wrong? I’d love to throw with bigger weights of clay, but the wedging intimidates me.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated ~ Nicky 💐

I’ve been enjoying making two-part pots recently and was really looking forward to using this kitchen sponge holder.

The trouble is it kept falling apart during the bisque firing. The last one ended up in the bin!

This time I asked for help and lots of lovely potters shared some really helpful tips with me.

A few people suggested glazing the pieces together and that they’d fuse together in the kiln. And it actually worked 😊!

I’m so happy with this little pot and wanted to say thank you to everyone who shared their tips on my last reel.

And if you ever find yourself in the same situation, it might be worth trying before giving up on your pot completely 💛

I love making these… but they keep falling apart in the kiln 🤯

Just arrived! Fresh stock of fabulous pottery aprons made by 🌈

I love the full-leg coverage that keeps me clean without feeling stiff or plasticky to wear. I can throw in my everyday clothes and still feel like myself.

So, just like those girls in the old Maybelline adverts, I can head straight out to the club after throwing 😘💃🍹
