Shireen dance of the goddess

A fabulous time was had at the Milton Keynes WITCH festival a couple of weeks ago.

These are the videos of the WITCH morris dance team, that we joined in with and Shireen dance of the Goddess with the German witch broom dance that members of the public joined us for.
Also some of the Shireen beautiful Egyptian demonstration dances filmed from the back I’m afraid, as I had to rest my feet and look after the gazebo.
We all had lots of fun and it was a great atmosphere.

Dance of the Goddess had a wonderful weekend collaborating with the Shireen dancers at the WITCH festival in Milton Keynes a few weeks ago.
We did the German witch broom dance demonstration, outside our gazebo and people really joined in and had fun. Shireen dance group did a beautiful Egyptian workshop and I did with the warm ups and cool downs for the class. So as not to do too much. The whole weekend was fun and we were even joined by the witch morris dancers, who in turn let us join in with there dance. I know my niece really enjoyed the morris dancing. There’s a couple of videos that I will put on the next post.

I just want to say thank you to everyone who donated and also those who attended Lorna’s send off today. It was a lovely service and a perfect tribute to a beautiful and much loved dancer. We learned all about Lorna’s story, much of which was a surprise to us. In short, Lorna was an interesting lady who lived life to the max.

I spoke to Daron (the husband), Lee (the son) and Sue (a sister) and they were all deeply touched by all the donations, flowers and photo books that came from Lorna’s belly dance friends.

Hi ladies, a lovely message from Jo at Asmara group.
Thank you all for your contributions to Lorna’s flowers and charity. We raised just over £200, including my own contribution and from lots of other dancers from the other groups. Flowers are ordered £85 with a message from all her bellydancer friends. I have ordered two photo books for the family £57 - for the sister and either Daron or Lee. That leaves £68 for charity, which I’ll round up to £70. I think I will donate to MacMillan Nurses - unless you think I should split the money across the two charities.

I’ll hopefully see quite a few of you on Thursday. Several of us are wearing our dance costumes, satin skirts and wraps perhaps, minus jingly belts. I think a bit of colour and sparkle would be lovely, so please feel free to join us in costume.

Please let me know who is thinking of attending the funeral so we can get an idea of numbers. We are thinking of wearing our dance skirts in celebration. Thank you.

Thank you to all those who are donating to the beautiful floral tribute for our fellow dancer Lorna. We have reached £98 so far and hope to get a heart shape in lavenders and pinks with a pink dance belt to tie over the front of it, in loving memory of a wonderful dancer.
Joanne has also donated her time and money to creating a very special memorial dance photo book. To to presented to Lorna’s loved ones on our behalf. Thank you for digging out your fantastic pictures some of which will be used in the book.
