A HUGE thank you to the lovely Lou Blackburn of Voices Entwined for such a beautiful, engaging and energising session at Anthem Voices last night! 💜

With the boss away, the choir got to experience something new - working with Louise who leads her sessions with just the natural voice. It was great to see our choir members scrubbing up on their a capella work & enjoining the brilliant pieces that Louise had to offer.

A wonderful way to finish the term. A big thanks to Lou for your time - we can’t wait to welcome you back to Anthem Voices in the future! 🎶

This and so much more ❤️

Sometimes it’s not even about singing in harmony (although we do love that a lot! 🤣)

Sometimes it’s about gathering in a circle and belting out the tune to a big old musical number. Pure joy. No fear. Just letting go & having the music take over 🎶

“And I’ll burn with the fire of ten million stars” ✨

Could you be singing [the body electric 😜] with us one day? News of January taster sessions coming soon! 👀

Spreading a bit of JOY at tonight’s rehearsal 🤩

Gosh what a number. It’s shaping up to be one of our favourites of all time! Such a feel good track.

Well done Anthem Voices for a cracker of a rehearsal! You smashed it! Choreography, intricate harmonies and full blown energy. That last run you gave me 110% and I am thrilled with the level of work you’re creating in that rehearsal room. PROUD MD HERE!!! 🎉🎉🎉

See you all after half term 👋✨

STICK IT UP YOUR WHAT SORRY? 👀😂

Love me a warm up that creates a giggle! As this one gets faster - the energy builds and the chaos ensues! Just bloody brilliant! Perfect for creating a fun energy in the room & getting your mouth around the words whilst flexing that vocal range.

You’re welcome 😂🙌🎶

“Oompah, stick it up your jumper
Stick it up your oompah
Stick it up your jumper…”

Etc etc 🤪🤪🤪

VOCAL CIRCLES ARE BACK IN BUSINESS! 🙌⭕️

Yep… they’re back! 🤩

I’ve been doing this more and more recently, and I genuinely feel like the choir get SO much more connection - both spiritually and vocally when they’re engaging directly with each other 🎶

I split the choir into their three vocal groups and asked them to perform INTO the circle rather than out towards me. It creates such a different energy in the room! ✨

We started with a warm-up - the brilliant ‘To Stop The Train’ 🚂 An oldie but a goodie! It’s been a while since we’ve done this one, but when I spotted doing it in circles, I was SOLD! 🙌

Then we moved onto our new piece ‘Joy’ & let me tell you… not even the arm-ography could throw this lot off! 😂💪 They were focused, engaged and giving passion, energy and enthusiasm in abundance! 🔥

🎶✨ MIC DROP MOMENT ✨🎶

Great job, Anthem Voices! You absolutely smashed it. See you next week! 👋

Wade In The Water/Sometimes I Feel Like A Motherless Child 🙏

This was a great way to start our rehearsal. You can feel the energy in the room & everyone is just going for it! This is what Anthem Voices is all about. No judgement just pure joy! Sing out and sing proud always 💪

More of this tonight 🤩🤩🤩

WHY ARE WE SUCH CREATURES OF HABIT? 🫣👀🫠😂

I walked in and thought NO. Tonight we are changing it up! Shifting the seats to face another way. I’m going to position myself in a new spot. HOW WILL I COPE. Will the gang like it? Will it send us all into a confused oblivion? 😵‍💫

The answer is: no 😂

If anything, I really found it helped lift the energy in the room from the get go! 💪🔥

Do you do this at your choir rehearsal?

Choir gang - how did you like the new seating position? Did it feel good to be sat in a different spot? 🪑

Wow. This one is a moment right? 💥

Thanks to Emma Nissen for creating something so magical. We stuck to the 3 parts for this rendition but my gosh didn’t it create such a SOUND? 🎤🥵🤯🔥

A fab way to get stuck into harmony work before taking on the rest of our rep!

CHOIR MEMBERS! Which vocal part was your fave? That top line got me in a chokehold 💪🥰

THURSDAY NIGHTS ARE… 🎶🎶🎶

Sometimes it’s drilling harmonies. Sometimes it’s working the dynamics. Sometimes it’s singing the same phrase over and over until we get it right…

Sometimes it’s this and sometimes it’s that.

But one things for sure, it’s ALWAYS a good time at Anthem Voices! 🙏

Big love to our choir gang tonight who worked their socks off with two of our newest pieces. Both songs have quite tricky melodies & harmonies and everyone did SO well. This Christmas concert is shaping up to be our best one yet! 🎄🎉
