The Steaming Coasters

26/09/2026

The Steaming Coasters are looking for new actors to join the cast as we gear up to present the premiere of two exciting comedy plays at The Backyard Theatre on July 2nd and 3rd next year. 'The Banging' and 'Unidentified Item in the Baggage Area' have been written by local authors Kerry Upchurch and Chris Crockford and both promise to be a real hoot. An informal reading and get-together has been set for October 6th at 7.15pm in The British Legion, Watchet. Please pm us if you would like more information.

If you are keen to show off your acting skills, or just want to be involved in our comedy troupe, this is the last call out to you to join us on Tuesday (15th September) evening for our play reading in the conservatory at the British Legion at 7.15pm sharp. Don't be shy now...we want to see you there!

Fans of the Steaming Coasters may recall that we performed our last comedy sketch show earlier this year and we asked you to ‘watch this space’. Well here it is: We have written some comedy plays; two short, two medium and one full length and we aim to give some or all of them a first stage showing in the Watchet area, this December!

Initially, we will start with a play reading evening on Tuesday September 15th and we invite anyone who wishes to attend to join in. Maybe you are new to the area. Perhaps you have acting experience, perhaps not. Possibly you would like to get involved in some capacity or are just curious as to what we are planning! If so, please send a pm for more information. New members of all ages are actively encouraged. Remember this is not an audition, just a reading.
