To celebrate , we’re spotlighting one of our wonderful Rural Hub Towns projects: The 'Essence of Eckington'.

Sculpted by local volunteer artists and led by artist Angela Hardwick, this colourful creative map is made up of hand-crafted clay tiles. The project was a community-wide creative effort, with over 100 local people taking part across twelve workshops which took place in the local pub, heritage centre, library and church hall before the tiles were fired at the local secondary school. The students even made a matching title tile!

The mural recently found its permanent home in Eckington Library's garden, where everybody can visit and enjoy it for years to come.

Check out this fabulous video from the project and remember that everyone is creative!

It’s and throughout the month we’re looking at some of the ways performing arts support mental wellbeing.

Kicking things off with the power of music.

Some nights, live music isn’t just entertainment. It’s breathing a little easier, feeling less alone in a crowded room and remembering what it’s like to be fully present.

Research backs it - reduced stress, improved mood, stronger social connection - but honestly, you don’t need a study for you to feel it!

Scroll through the carousel to find a live music event near you this season and head over to www.liveandlocal.org.uk/whats-on to book your tickets now.
