We're really excited to announce that, as part of the Movers & Shakers Carnival of Voice, Cerys Purser, a singing-for-health researcher with Warwick - A Singing Town is collaborating with Bibi Heal of ‘Songs That Move; classical songs that move body and brain’ to develop a singing programme for people with Parkinson’s. Drawing on participants’ ideas, the project will create songs and activities inspired by classical music and ballet, supporting voice use while fostering creative engagement.
Creating new material collaboratively within a musical community offers real value for people often defined by narratives of decline, shifting the focus around disease from loss to creativity and possibility. It affirms that creativity endures. It says - literally and metaphorically - “you matter”.
A programme of clinically relevant exercise for people living with neurological challenges, with a focus on Parkinson’s. Developed in collaboration with Neuro Heroes specialist physiotherapists, Movers & Shakers Gold Award-winning podcasters, and powered by Parkinson’s UK.
