Summer 2026- In the Bay acrylics and multimedia project. We are enjoyed adding texture with paper and gesso to create more dimension to these gorgeous acrylic paintings.

Summer 2026- Watercolour -Patio Pots
This charming watercolour project celebrates the abundance of an English summer. This subject offered rich opportunities to explore colour, texture and form.

Summer 2026- Watercolour & Fineliner -Fast And Expressive – Urban Sketching
Our project this week was urban sketching – a form of visual note-taking. Using perspective and negative space, our students observed and edited out details, confidently bringing scenes to life with watercolours and fineliners. The result is their fabulous work is vibrant, spontaneous and expressive, as if captured on the move!

Summer 2026- Watercolours- Vineyards
With a French summer theme, returners this week focused
on vineyard scenes in watercolour. Rather than realism, the emphasis was on charm
and stylised illustration, exploring colour harmony and composition. Some students created landscape with distant villas with terracotta roofs, while others chose a close-up study of grapes and leaves and some did both! This project celebrates colour, rhythm and atmosphere- a lovely start to our watercolour module.

Summer 2026- Oil Pastel- CAMELS!
Animal portraits translate beautifully into oil pastel, and for the second week of oil pastels our students painted camels with their expressive characters and striking shapes, enhanced by their colourful bridle details. Students layered coloured pencil over oil pastel to build depth and vibrancy. This mixed media approach encourages confident mark making and playful exploration of colour and texture. Can you spot the Sub Saharan Pygmy camel? 🤣

Summer 2026-Oil Pastel on Toned Paper-Beach Dunes
Inspired by summers at the beach, our students used oil pastels on toned paper to create soft golden dunes beneath an atmospheric sky. We blended colours to explore the medium’s richness, while gestural marks describe grasses and sand.

Summer 2026- Watercolour Pencils- Synchronised Swimmers
Building on the water studies from Week 1, our third week of
watercolour pencils introduced faces and figures through a synchronised
swimming theme. Students learnt how to lower chroma and blend hues to achieve a range of subtle skin tones. The project revisits body and facial proportions while exploring foreshortening, movement and pattern, resulting in a striking composition.
