Fatboi Sharif is an American avant-garde hip-hop artist known for his abstract lyricism, eerie soundscapes and magnetic stage presence. Drawing inspiration from artists as diverse as Sun Ra, Parliament-Funkadelic, Alice Coltrane, Cannibal Ox and Pig Destroyer, Sharif has developed a singular style that pushes far beyond traditional hip-hop boundaries.

Renowned for intense, immersive live performances, he treats each show as a communal experience, building a deep connection with audiences through his vivid storytelling and uncompromising creativity. DEBBY FRIDAY will join SPELLLING as support on 09.06.25.

DEBBY FRIDAY is a multi-faceted, multi-disciplinary artist. Autodidactic by nature, she debuted in 2018 with the self-release of her self-produced EP, BITCHPUNK. Met with underground praise and her first public performances, this gave way to her second EP, 2019’s DEATH DRIVE (Deathbomb Arc). This release simultaneously marked her directorial debut with the lead single’s music video for FATAL. In 2020, she directed and starred in her first short film, an experimental piece titled BARE BONES. From 2021-2022, FRIDAY wrote, directed and scored a science fiction audio-play trilogy, incorporating the use of generative art and AI. In 2023, she released her debut LP, GOOD LUCK (Sub Pop) to critical acclaim. The New York Times described the album as β€œambitious and charismatic”, calling FRIDAY a β€œshape-shifting dynamo journeying through different tempos and genres.” FRIDAY undertook several dedicated tours in Canada, the USA, Europe and Australia to promote the record. Six months following its release, the album was crowned the winner of the 2023 Polaris Music Prize.

A self-described experimentalist, FRIDAY’s art practice spans the spectrum of the audio-visual. Her work frequently explores themes of hybridity, the erotic and the esoteric. FRIDAY is currently working on her second LP, due in 2025. In her free time, she runs an experimental writing blog, thediaries.online.

β€˜Crosspiece’ the duo project of Theodora Laird and Caius Williams will be joining as support on Sat 31 May .

Theodora Laird is a vocalist and multidisciplinary artist. Releases under her solo project β€˜feeo’ have received critical acclaim. Theodora’s practice has involved in tandem with an interest in situating narratives within freely improvised music, specifically through frequent involvement in the GRAIN residency.

Caius Williams is a musician working within experimental and improvised music. He has a collaborative duo with Theodora Laird (β€˜Crosspiece’), solo projects working with both double bass and baritone guitar, has played bass in Lifetones (a project of Charles Bullen of This Heat), and plays baritone guitar in Theodora’s project β€˜feeo’. Caius also regularly works with many of London’s notable improvisers, including Steve Noble, Tara Cunningham, Maggie Nicols, Tom Challenger, Mark Sanders, and others.
