To mark the 60th anniversary of our Safari Park, Keeper Caleb is taking part in the Lewa Safari Marathon! 🦁

It is known for being one of the toughest marathons in the world, taking participants across savannah plains, riverbanks and acacia woodland in intense heat while surrounded by zebras, rhinos, giraffes and other Kenyan wildlife. Despite that, Caleb has always wanted to run it and had hoped to take part in the 2024 event before its cancellation.

His efforts are all for a good cause, since he is fundraising for Tusk, our wonderful conservation partner who helps conserve and protect wild animals across Africa. If you'd like to sponsor him, you can donate online here: https://f.mtr.cool/sztzluatvg

Celebrate Father’s Day at Longleat!

It's been 60 years since lions first arrived at Longleat, and today the legacy continues with the recent arrival of two lioness sisters! 🦁

The girls are settling in, but we need your help to pick their names - which two are your favourite from our keepers' shortlist? Tell us in the comments.

💛 Kabira - Noble, powerful leader
🧡 Reya - Queen / Angel
💛 Amari - Great strength
🧡 Imani - Faith
💛 Asha - Life, hope

The sisters are Southern African lionesses, which is a different subspecies to the 18 lions across our two current prides. Both species are unfortunately classified as vulnerable.

Eventually, we hope to find and introduce a male to the girls to create a new generation of the legendary lions of Longleat and help conserve this amazing species. For now, you can come and see our prides on Sunday! Please note, we are closed for a private event tomorrow, Saturday 13 June.

We're roaring into summer with our Motor Show Weekender! 🏎️🚗

Next up on our calendar is our exciting new celebration of motoring history. Not only will you get to see a range of incredible supercars, rally cars and classic cars on display, but you'll also get to watch live rally demonstrations 🏁

This event is included in your Day Ticket or Membership on 27 and 28 June, so you can also celebrate our Safari Park's 60th anniversary with a drive-through animal experience and all our other fantastic attractions.

We promised a big new arrival, and here he is: Stanley, our new Nubian bull giraffe 🦒

He arrived here at Longleat today to join our tower of females, who were all born here as part of the all-important European Breeding Programme, which helps conserve this critically endangered species for generations to come. We are hoping that Stanley's arrival will mean that we will hear the pitter patter of calf hooves once again in the near-future! 🤞

For now, Stanley and the girls are in the paddock adjacent to the giraffe house to let them mix and get to know each other. However, we hope to return them to the main reserve where giraffe feeding will resume on Saturday 13 June.
