Great event to work on and proud to be apart of! Thank you Love It Local for entrusting us with your event!

What a fantastic evening we had on Friday 28th November as Michael Portillo took to the stage for an unforgettable and wonderfully entertaining talk about his remarkable career. Speaking to a packed hall at The Purbeck School, Michael shared candid insights from his life in Westminster—working with figures like Margaret Thatcher and John Major—before reflecting on his second career as a much-loved broadcaster and travel presenter.

A lively audience Q&A rounded off the night, with thoughtful and often surprising questions that kept everyone engaged.

Huge thanks to everyone who made the evening possible: Rotary Club of Wareham. for the delicious refreshments (donations went to their supported charities); Zac and Rufus from Band BAV for seamless technical support; and Purbeck School for being outstanding hosts.

With a full house and fantastic feedback, Michael’s visit has set the bar high for future Love It Local Events—stay tuned for more great nights coming soon!
