The school opened its doors to the wider community in 2005 with Georgie as the only teacher. From September 2022 the school will follow the affiliate training of the ROYAL BALLET SCHOOL and the vocational level exams of the Royal Academy of Dance with students able to take examinations up to and including Advanced 2. The school has been growing steadily over the years and now has students attendin
g from one class to ten+ classes each week. The school environment is friendly and supportive, catering to both dance as a hobby and dance with a view to a career. The school is very welcoming to all and believes that each child is of equal importance regardless of ability. Ballet can be learned purely for the pleasure and joy of it. Equally if a student has potential and desire, they can be taken down a more vocational route. The school currently has, and has had, several students go on to train vocationally full-time at the Royal Ballet School, Central School of Ballet, English National Ballet School, Elmhurst Ballet School, Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, Tring Park School for the performing Arts, Laine Theatre Arts, Urdang Academy, and London Studio Centre. Some of these students are now having careers as both professional ballet & contemporary dancers and teachers, whilst others are still training at these schools. GPSD has children as associates at the Royal Ballet School, Central School of Ballet, Tring Park Classical Ballet Academy, English National Ballet School & London Studio Centre. GPSD is dedicated to high standards of teaching resulting in high standards of learning. The staff endeavour to make each child’s learning experience a happy one.
