Just had a great couple of hours at The Swan With Two Necks for its Hot-Rod night (first Tuesday of each month)! ๐Ÿ˜Ž
We were invited down by our friends, the absolutely amazing Smashing It Burgers who cater the event (we are helping them out with their next project ๐Ÿ˜Ž) - the food was nothing less than awesome!!! Check out their page for catering your event! ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ”

Itโ€™s been a while since I put a post up, and thereโ€™s various reasons for that, which Iโ€™ll get onto another time ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
Because right now 1 of those reasons has just left LCHQ wearing a brand new look ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜Ž
Last year Charles got in touch asking about a facelift for his Mk6 Transit, and after 3 months of major surgery, what seemed like endless prep, and with some finishing touches still to go, he finally got it back today ๐Ÿ˜
We could see some possible corrosion issues creeping up from behind the side skirts, the front steps looked iffy, and there were probably some other telltale signs that this was going to be a little more than a โ€œresprayโ€! ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
Once the stripping commenced it was obvious the tin worm had got its teeth right into the little Transit - requiring new front arches, inner & outer steps/sills, inner & outer sills down the sides, and rear archs ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ณ As the job went on it also had new inner front wings, and new wings ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ
Luckily Jay isnโ€™t frightened of much, so he set about cutting out the rot, and replacing with new steel ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ But as every welder knows, itโ€™s never that simple ๐Ÿ˜ฉ He had to fabricate the inner sills down each side, he had to patchwork the front & rear wheel wells, all before he could think about putting a new panel on ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ The process was lengthy and labour intensive, but well worth saving a cracking van! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
Once the welding was complete it was down to me to get things ship shape and ready for paint - unfortunately another labour intensive process with previous โ€œrepairsโ€ being uncovered in many of the panels ๐Ÿ˜ฌ My boy Hayden did the lions share of the basic prep, whilst I took care of the painful bits ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ˜‚
Even fitting the new reproduction bodykit brought its own issues, taking several days to complete the process alone ๐Ÿ˜ณ
But after 3 months of many โ€œcuteโ€ nicknames for this van โ€œRusty Mc@ #&*$โ€, it is finally back with Charles, where it belongs ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
The RAL7024 grey contrasting against the RAL5010 blue, and black accents works amazingly! We even got the wheels powdercoated to match the scheme ๐Ÿ˜€ The RS style stripes are a compliment to the sporty look and nod to the heritage of the Ford brand ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
Sooooo much work went into this, itโ€™s what we call a โ€œrestorationโ€! No 5 minute scotch up and out the door job here ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
After having to strip the cab for the welding, the floor was prepped & painted. Once the archs were on the wheel wells got sealed and shutzed. All exposed underbody areas were epoxied and shutzed. Parts were replaced, door seals were replaced, headlights, handles, wheel nuts, you name it, were replaced! And if it wasnโ€™t replaced it was cleaned up and painted! ๐Ÿฅต
From the outside it looks like a nice job, but it goes far deeper! ๐Ÿ˜
Thank you Charles for the business, the challenge, and your patience - a month job turned into 3, but you were supper cool throughout! Now get out to those festivals and give โ€˜em the party headlights ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿค™๐Ÿผ

Extra thanks to Jay for countless hours of blood, sweat & tears ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿผ And also to Hayden, my dad & Lindsey - it was a real team effort! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ

Thereโ€™s a lot of photos, but itโ€™s just a snippet of what I have ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜‚

Another year is coming to an end, which makes LC 5 years old ๐ŸŽ‚๐Ÿ˜€
It has been a really tough year though - our wonderful government putting business rates up, then messing with income tax and god knows what else - resulting in swallowing any & all profit ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

Itโ€™s been another year of 7 day weeks, calling on friends and family to help push me and the work through - without Jay Ess, Tom Heath, and Lindsey Batten I would not have made it full stop, so thank you guys! Youโ€™ve given up your free time to help get the jobs done and added your skills where mine are limited ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿผ

Kerrylee and the kids have been supportive and helped keep me motivated and focussed (mostly ๐Ÿ˜ฌ), so thank you, I love you guys ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿผ

To my customers this year, thank you so much for your business, your patience at times, and faith in my work and LC ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ˜

To past & future customers, and loyal followers, I appreciate your continued support, without you guys, there is no business ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ˜€

As for the - I have fallen behind in the repayments, mainly due to the constant increases in costs and inability to increase income currently ๐Ÿ˜•
But I did manage to sell 1 of my cars recently so put the majority to repaying you guys - youโ€™re always my first priority after the bills are paid - if thereโ€™s spare money, it goes to you ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ When/if I can start charging what my jobs are worth, you will get your money back a lot faster ๐Ÿ˜Ž

So whatever youโ€™re doing tonight to see in the New Year, enjoy yourself, drink, eat & dance - have fun with your friends & family - itโ€™s what we work so hard all year for! ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿผ

Happy New Year! Letโ€™s hope 2026 brings better times ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿค™๐Ÿผ

Merry Christmas to customers and followers, past, present & future! ๐ŸŽ…๐Ÿผ๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿ˜€

A little late posting about this job, but better late than never! ๐Ÿ˜Ž
Beth & Jade upgraded to a Crafter recently, and really wanted to put their stamp on it - so after doing a couple of small jobs on their T4 a while ago, they got in touch and so started the process to what you see here ๐Ÿ˜€
Beth was the driving force on colour and style, but Jade managed to squeeze some input into the design, which makes the van stand out that little bit more ๐Ÿ˜
The van itself wasnโ€™t in a terrible state considering itโ€™s a Crafter - there was some rust, there was some corrosion, but nothing we couldnโ€™t treat and hopefully keep at bay for a while ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ The bodywork also wasnโ€™t awful, with a few minor dents to sort out, but unfortunately at some point there was an impact on the rear which really made a mess of the back door - it had been โ€œrepairedโ€ previously, but not to a great standard, so I reworked it and smoothed it out much better than before ๐Ÿ˜Ž
Once the body was a straight as possible, rust treated and sealed with epoxy primer, it was on with the Raptor in the chosen colour of RAL6021 Pale Green ๐Ÿ’š A bit of a change from the original white, and set over the black looks really nice ๐Ÿ˜€ Add to this Jadeโ€™s design input of the smooth โ€œghostโ€ asymmetrical line feature, the whole look works amazingly! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
Thank you for the business and trust Beth, and thanks to Jade for keeping Bethโ€™s anxiety levels to a minimum ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿคฃ Hope you get out and enjoy the van really soon ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿค™๐Ÿผ

If you havenโ€™t watched my YouTube video on how to Raptor the right wayโ€ฆ..why not?! ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‚
But for those who donโ€™t need to know how to Raptor, but still like to look at cool stuff, hereโ€™s the job in all its glory ๐Ÿ˜Ž
I was contacted by Kemar looking for some work to be done on his Jeep - it had been Raptorโ€™d a few years ago - unfortunately some areas werenโ€™t done as well as they should have been ๐Ÿ˜ฌ The bonnet & scuttle panel in particular had bubbled, delaminated, and chipped quite badly ๐Ÿ˜ฉ
So I stripped them both back to bare metal and started the process the right way ๐Ÿ˜Ž
The bonnet was an aftermarket panel, so had arrived in a black โ€œe-coatโ€, which is just to protect the metal temporarily whilst waiting to be sold and in transit - it is not a primer, and so needs to be removed or at least prepped & primed like any other panel! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
This one hadnโ€™t been prepped or primed, so it had allowed moisture to pe*****te to the steel below and started to corrode it ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ
So once all the paint was stripped, I treated the rust affected areas, epoxy primed everything, and then it was on with the black Raptor ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
It was good as new in no time ๐Ÿ˜€
Thanks Kemar for the business, and the opportunity to work on a very cool Jeep ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
We will be doing some more work on this Jeep very soon, as it is going to be used as a mobile marketing tool for Kemarโ€™s football academy ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž

Hereโ€™s a video I put together detailing the whole process of prepping & painting with Raptor - Iโ€™m still learning the YouTube ropes, so please excuse my amateur videography skills ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‚
And if you decide to watch any of the other videos, excuse my brummie ranting about random stuff - itโ€™s all about getting used to the camera ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿค™๐Ÿผ
