Wallasey Arts Society returned to it's home at Earlston Road Library in Wallasey. After four weeks seeking out local venues to capture in many mediums we came back to drawing from the figure Many thanks to our excellent model Ann.
The pictures below were taken at the break and near the end of our time, You will be able to pick out individual pictures or series of photos describing the development of a drawing or painting.
Can I please take this opportunity to remind our members who attended the meeting at the walled garden that we have an exhibition of small works to prepare for at the end of September.
The pictures will be of the garden and can be work made in the venue, or an image created after our visit from sketches or photos
taken there. work should be no larger than A3.

Our final "Railings" show was a rather depleted event, both in terms of viewers and exhibitors. Scuppered before it had started by the weather forecast and warnings about thunder.
Four of our membership ventured out, not quite in the style of JMW Turner being lashed to the mast, but paintings had to be tied down against the stiff breeze.
A sale was completed early on, raising our spirits for the rest of the afternoon during which we received visits from friends, acquaintances and family until, with about 30 minutes remaining, rain arrived and we retreated.
Thanks to everybody who visited, it's great to see your reactions, and to talk to you, to hear your opinions and memories. It's a real boost for us to receive your compliments, and an even better feeling when you choose to own a piece of work.
To our exhibitors, thank you! and wasn't that fun? I'd love to see all our members taking part next year. As art is about communication you should seek a wider audience than yourself.
I hope everyone is preparing for our future events the annual show in November and the Walled Garden Show at the end of September.
See you all Wednesday morning at the library.

As we approach the beginning of meteorological autumn, our final show on "The Railings" for 2026 will take place on the promenade outside Vale Park this Sunday 30th August between 1.00 and 4.00 pm
After four Sundays of great weather, meeting, talking to lots of great people and occasionally selling our pictures, we approach this final show with the hope that the weather will not dampen our spirits, and allow you all to visit us.
Thank you, to everybody who has viewed our shows, it's great to receive feedback about our works and even more of a boost for anyone to have someone own one or more of our pieces.
We hope you will be able to visit our annual exhibition which will take place at Wallasey Central Library near the end of the year.
