I just can’t get enough of painting flowers at the moment ( I’m becoming obsessed !! 😝) and making really good Progress with the birth flower gallery I’m creating (there’s usually 2 and sometimes 3 associated either each month of the year ) but I want to know what people actually love … what’s your favourite flower ?
Spam me below and please feel free to share the post or tag others - I’m looking for inspiration ( all the suggestions I’m not already covering will go in a hat and I’ll draw one out and paint it as a gift - if there’s more than one suggestion for the same flower you’ll all go in a hat so replications are fine ☺️ 🌺 🌼

you know how it goes... when you do something you love for a living you're always servicing your clients and never get round to doing it for yourself or your family .... well recently we had a BIG birthday at Wonderland Towers and i squirrelled away for about 5 weeks in secret on this one as a surprise ( after years of being asked for a Welsh landscape)
It was beautifully framed in white and glazed with art glass ( less reflective) by my amazing wall art company and printed large to go on the wall above the sofa in our living room ( i chose the palette to specifically match) - when we've hung it i'll post another pic of it on the wall ... but for now

As tomorrow brings us into June ( could somebody be a love and please inform the weather!) i thought i'd share this recent art piece i completed. A bunch of pink roses in glass vase with a digital copy of an old treasured love letter used as a textured paper over the top to make it incredibly personal.
Rose is one of the birth flowers for June, but do you know what the other main one is? 😊

Hello everyone, sorry for the quiet… I was busy before Christmas fulfilling orders and I’ve been squirrelling away behind the scenes working on a massive project .. I mean mahoooosive !!!! Something I’ve been working on for the best part of a year now
Today seems like a perfect day to launch it, why? because it’s my birthday ☺️ and I can’t think of a better reason to do something exciting on what is supposed to be Blue Monday ( the most depressing day of the year !)

So here we are again at that peculiar and reflective threshold of seeing out one year and welcoming in a new one - it’s going to be an exciting ( and scary ) year ahead for AlisonWonderland Photography - and sister businesses Wonderland Enchantographs and Alisonwonderland Art - I have brand new services to launch and a huge life changing move on the horizon.
I’ve had a year of ups and downs and downs but again have to thank you all my amazing clients, friends,& family for your custom and support - thank you 🙏🤩 I’m so grateful for every single booking, commission, weird & random editing request ( and there have been some belters this year 😜😂) all those I have helped and tutored in workshops and for every single follow, like and supportive comment 😍

🌺Today on 11th November 2023 it seemed appropriate to share with you a sneak peek of a very exciting project i've been working on for quite a while behind the scenes - i'll launch it properly soon - but here's two poppy paintings i created as part of this new service ....here's also a couple of interesting Poppy facts:

🌺The poppy is one of two birth flowers for August

🌺The poppy became associated with Armistice day and associated as a symbol of remembrance after John McCrae wrote the poem 'In Flanders Fields' in 1915 where he noted that poppies had started growing around the Battlefield sites of the first world war.
It turns out that the poppy seeds lay dormant in the fields already but the action of the ground being churned during battle brought the poppy seeds to the surface again where the sun could reach them, this also enlivened the nutrients in the soil to help them thrive!
