will be joining us again. We can't wait to see what she brings. The Christmas Open Studio Train starts on Saturday 13th Dec. We are open from 11am.

Working from her studio in the heart of Sussex, Heather Muir creates porcelain vessels that beautifully echo the landscape around her. Her pieces are inspired by the muted tones of the Downs, the shifting light along the coast, and the natural textures found in fields, woodlands, and wild places.

Heather’s work blends a quiet elegance with purposeful simplicity. Each piece is thoughtfully handcrafted, celebrating the rhythm of the making process — the touch of the clay, the slow building of form, and the gentle layering of glazes. Her surfaces often carry subtle marks and organic patterns that give every item its own character, making no two pieces exactly alike.

Rooted in Sussex yet resonating far beyond it, Heather’s ceramics bring a sense of calm and connection into the home. Whether functional or decorative, her work invites you to slow down, notice the details, and appreciate the beauty found in natural imperfections and hand-shaped craft.

Next up for our introductions to the artists exhibiting with us for the Christmas Open Studio Trail. 13th & 14th December.

an artist and illustrator based in Climping, West Sussex, creates expressive nib-pen illustrations inspired by both local coast and countryside. Working in ink and watercolour, her pieces capture the character, texture, and quiet beauty of the landscapes that surround us. Each artwork blends fine, detailed linework with soft washes of colour, celebrating the charm of West Sussex’s shoreline, villages, and natural scenes.

Creator Darryl Pautz has a true passion for crafting and welding distinctive décor pieces for both the garden and the home. His work is rooted in creativity, skill, and a strong appreciation for materials that deserve a second life.

Darryl often works with repurposed metals, transforming overlooked or discarded objects into striking sculptures, practical features, and one of a kind decorative items. Each piece reflects his ability to see potential where others see scrap, blending craftsmanship with imagination to produce items that are full of character, texture, and individuality.

Whether it’s a bold garden feature or a quirky accent for the home, Darryl’s creations carry the charm of reclaimed materials and the artistry of a maker who loves what he does.
