There’s something to excite and delight everyone at Theatre Royal Wakefield, from the smallest to the tallest! Our stage is usually occupied 265 days of the year and some of the work is made by us, right here in Wakefield (like our hugely popular pantomime). The rest we hand pick from the best that the UK has to offer. Theatre Royal Wakefield is for everyone, that’s why we are also proud to present work from our local community, amateur societies and groups on our stages.

Join us on Wednesday 2 December at 10am & 6pm for our relaxed performances of Beauty and the Beast!⭐

These shows offer a more informal theatre experience, with gentler sound levels and low lighting in the auditorium, creating a comfortable space.

While everyone is welcome, these performances are especially suited for people with an autism spectrum condition, learning disabilities, sensory or communication disorders, as well as families with young children.

We believe the magic of panto should be for everyone.

This International Day of Play, we're celebrating the joy, creativity and connection that play brings at every age. We're looking back on the fun we had as kids, and injecting a bit of play into our daily tasks. Play doesn't stop when you grow up, it just changes shape.
