Such a great cause!

At Tuesday’s Tea & Tunes we were joined by Pam, Ingrid and Julie from the fabulous The Rodillian Singers!! Their generosity and kindness has blown me away! They came to hand over a whopping £206 to Wrenthorpe Methodist Church, funds that they raised from the raffle at their recent concert in May. These vital funds will keep supporting our wonderful community singing sessions that take place every month. Thank you all so much for the incredible support you continue to give to us! It means the world! 🥰🎶🥰🎶🥰

Great piece on BBC news about Sirens, a choir comprising members of emergency services. Talks about the benefits of singing in a choir. You don’t need to be in the Emergency service to join the Rodillian Singers. As Michael Ball says…Join a Choir! We rehearse Thursdays at 7:30, Stanley St Peter’s church, Lakelock Road. You’ll receive a great welcome.

So, singing isn’t just good for you personally, it’s also good for the community. Last Christmas, we sang at a local residential home as well as carolling around the pubs raising money for Wakefield Hospice. In February we sang with Harrogate Male Voice Choir and raised money for Martin House Hospice. This month our concert raffle money will be donated to Tea and Tunes, a dementia and neuro-inclusive choir. That’s over £2,000 for charity in the last 6months!!!

What a lovely morning some of the Rodillian singers had at Martin House Hospice with Rebecca, their fundraiser. Along with Lawrie from Harrogate Male Voice Choir and Jo from Boston SPA Methodist Church, we presented a cheque for £1400. This was the profits from our joint concert in February to raise money for this fantastic Hospice
