Feeling more human today, after a few quiet days recovering from the weekends market

Theres been a glaze unload, with lots of beautiful pieces for a commission and some pieces for online. Theres big serving bowls, looking mighty next to the other pieces

There have been a few plate casualties, while I always make extra, the plates that dried to the batts before I could wire them off are the ones that are not happy, we win and we lose some

Then it’s been a reclaim, wedge, weigh and throw kinda day, went rogue at the end with some test bowls

And then weve had all 4 seasons here today, the wind knocked over loads of daffodils, popped out to collect them and get them on display, bringing in a bit of joy 🌞

Logistically my brain is on over drive for these next two weeks, so much so I have picked up and started the morning pages again to help clear the fog, get the important information out of my brain and on to paper

I have a few forms I would like to throw this week, which are calling to me from the studio, however im feeling a little tired still from the weekend so trying to find a balance that doesn’t tip me over the edge

There is so much life admin along with work:
Sofa swap
Huge compost delivery
Maybe plants arriving
Planter filling with the compost
Clay delivery maybe this week
Order packaging
Think about logistics and packing for the hen party next weekend
Emails, DMs, text pals back

So theres no wonder really that im feeling a bit 🥴

Has anyone done the artists way? By Julia Cameron? Im considering picking it back up and giving it another go, as it was so helpful last time

After a long hard think (and some words of encouragement, thank you ) I will be bringing a selection of these sculptures to ceramic fair this weekend

I’ve created these pieces from a feeling of unknown, wanting to look through, past and round whats there
just a glimpse, a view - the state of things has me creating to calm my mind

The second image was taken on the 2 January 2012, in the purple palace, Hue, Vietnam. This moment here gave me a great sense of calm, which has always left me feeling weird as the surroundings were ruins from the war

Im halfway through the Mark Fisher book the weird and the eerie, which is feeding into more making and more complex sculptures along with coming across the back room videos

While this is definitely a work in progress still, I’m ready to bring them out into the wild and would really like to chat about them
