It's been just over a week since Under the Sun, and we're still looking back on such a great experience performing under Luke Jerram Studio's Helios at WX.

An important update if you are coming to see Under the Sun at WX on Saturday:

For the Afternoon Matinee:

Please be advised that the running time of this event has been extended. The new times are 3:00pm to 4:40pm. Please ensure you update your parking and logistics plans accordingly. Thank you so much for your understanding.

And the Evening:

Please be advised that the running time of this event has been extended. The new times are 7pm to 9:30pm. Please ensure you update your parking and logistics plans accordingly.

We can't wait to see you tomorrow for our first performance of Under the Sun!

There are still tickets available, so please do feel free to pop down.

This is our more relaxed SEND-Friendly performance. This means:

Before the show commences there will be a short "get to know the play" with Steven, the writer and director, so you know what to expect.

In terms of sound, we love that WX has ear mufflers that you are absolutely free to wear during the performance.

Throughout the course of the play you are free to move around, go to the bathroom, or get refreshments. We do ask our wonderful audience to stay clear of the staging area directly under the sun for safety, but this area will be clearly indicated.

We are thrilled to have Eleanor Griffin joining us for Under the Sun.

Eleanor is a student at CAPA College, and takes the role of Caelan, a teenager exploring their gender identity, the disapproval of their parents, and also being an unexpected friend and support to Alvi as Alvi navigates his mental health.

𝗪𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗔 𝗠𝗶𝗱𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁'𝘀 𝗗𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝗣𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗹𝗲!

We had an amazing time and so did our really bumper audience! Below are just a few pictures from the production taken by the very talented Faith Cook, with more to come.

We'd also like to say a great big thank you to Wakefield Museums and Castles who allowed us to use their space at the castle for free, and who have such a wealth of activities for people of all ages.

We are beyond excited to welcome the incredibly talented Tyler Pickles , one of the stars of Channel 4's "Dreamers", as Alvi in our upcoming performances of Under the Sun at WX Wakefield this August!

Tyler is an accomplished actor for stage and screen, and also is the driving force behind Rebel Roots Theatre.

About Under the Sun, he says: "I think this story comes at a challenging time for the country when acceptance and empathy are suddenly not always the norm, and ‘Under the Sun’ steps in as a welcome reminder of what it means to be human, no matter our differences."
