Creative Spotlight ✨: Hannah Mullen

Wakefield-based Hannah Mullen is an actor, writer, director and facilitator whose work spans theatre, film and commercials. Fresh from touring Yorkshire with her acclaimed q***r farce I F*cking Love F*cking Someone I F*cking Hate, Hannah combines live music, sharp storytelling and physical comedy to create unforgettable experiences for audiences.

Passionate about championing creativity, wellbeing and artist development in the region, Hannah also co-founded Foundations, a creative community supporting and showcasing northern artists through scratch nights and writing workshops.

📅 The next Foundations event takes place at Wakefield Exchange on 6 November, with submissions opening soon.

Wakefield Youth Producers and Promoters is a new project that gives young LGBTQ+ people based in the Wakefield district the opportunity to work together to host music events across the city, and create performance opportunities for other young people. 🎵

We are recruiting for a group of young people based across the Wakefield district, to design, create and establish an event series to take place in Wakefield, with initial meetings taking place at WX Wakefield.

Interested in being part of this? Complete the application form below before 8pm, Monday 22nd June! In order to apply, you must be aged 16-25 and live in the Wakefield district.

OPPORTUNITY FOR PERFORMERS📣

During February Half Term 2027, WX Wakefield will be celebrating Wakefield's unique heritage as part of the famous Rhubarb Triangle.

Alongside the Rhubarb Festival, they will be welcoming visitors throughout the half term week.

They are seeking to commission three performers to deliver family-friendly performances during half term and the festival itself.

Whether you are a storyteller, musician, comedian, magician, poet or theatre-maker they want to hear from you!
